unable to send group e-mails from new gmail account on windows live mail

03. May 2014 · Write a comment · Categories: Uncategorized · Tags: Hotmail Account, personal account, Windows Live Mail

Hi everyone, this is my first time on this forum. Hopefully I will be able to get an answer.

I have recently set up a new gmail account on windows live to separate volunteer-related items from my personal account which is a hotmail one.

I am able to send individual emails from my gmail account but not group ones so have to use my hotmail account instead.

I have to sign in to Windows Live using my hotmail password. Is this the reason why I can't send group e-mails?

Error comes up as;

An unknown error has occurred.

Subject 'Fw: Tube strike for Wednesday evening'
Server: 'smtp.gmail.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0B
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 587
Secure(SSL): Yes

I have read previous posts and also tried port 465 without success.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated,

Many thanks,

Steve

Cannot add closed account as Alias for my Primary Account

13. January 2014 · Write a comment · Categories: livemail · Tags: personal account
Hi,

In the past I have used two separate MS accounts, one using my private e-mailaddress and the other using my professional/work e-mail. Now I wanted to merge both account by closing my personal account and add this address as an alias to my other account. I successfully closed the personal account, but now I can't seem to add this e-mailaddress as an alias in my other account, because it still tells me this e-mailaddress is already is use. How can I get this thing to work?

Regards,

Wim

PaymentHub shows BE – Personal Account (persoonlijk account) and Xbox Music and Video are in French instead of Dutch (Netherlands)

02. November 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: microsoft, personal account

Having called Xbox support, twittered to @MicrosoftHelps and posted questions to Windows Live support, I keep getting sent to someone else within Microsoft to fix the following problem:

When I go to https://commerce.microsoft.com, the dropdown in the blue banner topright shows three accounts:

BE - Personal Account (BE - Persoonlijk account)

NL - Personal Account (NL - Persoonlijk account) and

NL - Business Account (NL - Zakelijk account)

Windows Phone Store was in French, Xbox Music and Xbox Video on Windows 8.1 will give me music options and trailers in French, even though the text - e.g. the movie synopsis in the Video app - is in Dutch.

I'm Dutch, born here, live in Amsterdam and don't speak French!

Please remove completely the BE part of my account.

I'm sorry that I really don't get who within Microsoft is responsible and whether I post to the right Category/Product combination here. I just want to get this fixed - it'd be so much easier if Microsoft would take responsibility for this problem and come back with a solution instead of asking whether I posted here or there and whether I tried that support website or the other...

It's a fundamental setting in my account and strongly related to payment options (they're different depending on which of the three accounts I select) but the SYMPTOMS are visible in Windows 8 Video, Music apps and Windows Phone 8 Store, previously also in Zune. Now I care about those symptoms, but at the end of the day I simply want to get rid of that silly dropdown - or at least with the item containing reference to BE in it.

Thanks,

Eric

I have not received an email in my outlook.com account in two days; junk or otherwise. I can send emails from my personal account; *** Email address is removed for privacy ***< , to my business email, but when I reply from my business account I receive nothing. My wife is experiencing the same problem on her account; *** Email address is removed for privacy ***. I have tried different computers, different phones, tried going directly to msn.com, still no emails.

URGENT HELP NEEDED! hacked email

27. October 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: personal account, security information

Hello,

My email has been hacked by someone who is claiming to be me. He was able to log in to my personal account in the embassy and change my personal information because it is linked to my Hotmail account.

He also emailed my threating me to not to change my password!!!!

I was able to get my email back from him, but he changed the security information (other email associated with this account, and a phone number). I was not able to change this information to assure that he cannot reset my password and log in to my account.

Can anyone help me with this?

Also, he deleted ALL my emails.

Is there any possible way to have them back?

I would REALLY appreciate any help and advises on this here.

And would I ever be able to communicate with HOTMAIL directly to resolve this?

SkyDrive, Storage recovering from personal account with email address no longer used

14. October 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: microsoft, personal account
Hello everyone,
as a result of my growing interest and appreciation for the Microsoft ecosystem, these days I created a new email account (with domain outlook.com) to use around all the various utilities: calendar, tasks, and more importantly, SkyDrive.
Regarding the last one, I realized that I have only 7GB, while on my old account (with domain live.it) I have 25GB.
Question: given that the accounts are connected to the same person, me, would it be possible to allocate the space no longer used on the old account to the new one? Is it complicated? Maybe by "Redeem code" ..

I can not/don't know how contact Microsoft, does anyone know which ref. channel I could use for this question?

Thank you in advance!
greetings
Fabio

Redundant email accounts – live@edu upgrade to office 365 for education

08. October 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: personal account, school's Alumni Association
Overview:

My school's Alumni Association has recently migrated the Alumni E-mail from Live@edu  to Office365

Observations:
  1. SkyDrive is no longer supported, so to access it, I must go to https://skydrive.live.com/,  but from SkyDrive, I cannot go to outlook.com from the dropdown. I understand that now I have a personal account (skydrive) and an office365 account (email, calendar, etc)
  2. In order to access email, I AM ABLE to log on through outlook.com/alumni.lsu.edu, and sync email and calendar with my phone and laptop
Problems:
  1. I now have two (duplicate) @edu addresses associated with Windows 8. Personal @edu (used to setup Windows 8) and Office365. In order to receive email, I had to add the office365 @edu email address to windows 8 as an exchange account. This wouldn't normally be a problem but now I have TWO redundant @edu (personal and office365).
  2. The problem is that both calendars sync with the corresponding account, but I only can get email through the office365 account. Do I need to have both accounts sync'd with Windows 8 in order to use SkyDrive AND Email from the same @edu address? It seems I can disable notifications from the personal account, and use the office365 account with Windows 8 for email and calendar.
  3. Is my only option to use my personal account for skydrive, and my office365 account for email and calendar?
  4. My personal account shows Facebook birthday calendars, etc, where as I do not see this option with the office365 account? How do I use only one account for email and calendar?

Cannot access my account. It asked me for a code.

Hello Carissa. Thanks for the tips. Still, I´m having the same problem and this has stopped me from using my work account.
I log in through Hotmail.com
I cleared cookies, managed my search engines through control panel options (erased everything but Google) , removed third party programs, rebooted, ran antivirus scans, useless.
What´s more upsetting, is the fact that my personal account does not behave like this (it´s Hotmail as well).
What I can tell you so far is that my personal account asked me today for a second address to send my security code, which I did.
My work account has not. The only way to access it without trouble is on my mobile (runs Android).

I desperately need help

Thanks!

Business / personal account and SkyDrive storage

Is it possible to change my Microsoft account from Business to Personal? Maybe it's one of the reasons I cannot buy an 20 GB storage, but is offers 50 or 100 GB only. Also, because I am using Office 365 trial version, it will not add additional storage, even if I pay for it now, because I have to wait until the trial period expires itself.
