Just downloaded Office for Mac 2011. Goal is to create mail merge emails with Word. Need to connect my AOL account with Outlook and it's not working. Getting error message as follows: Outlook cannot find the server. Verify the server information is entered correctly in the Account Settings, and that your DNS settings in the Network pane of System Preferences are correct.

I've looked for info on what changes are needed, but can't find relevant information. Appreciate any help. Thanks. Wendy
Hi,

I have Office 365 and I have been running all Microsoft programmes with no issues on my iMac. Yesterday I installed them all on my MacBook Air as well and this morning Outlook says Inbox: Updating local and no emails update. It is still working on my MacBook Air?

I have uninstalled and reinstalled. Robooted to no avail.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
I have a client who has outlook 2011. He sends out e-mails without subject lines. He wants to disable the warning. Is there a way to disable that warning ?
We do not allow for Corporate emails to be downloaded to PCs/Macs outside of the building. This is the default for Windows/Outlook (i.e. you have to explicitly enable RPC/HTTP, Outlook Anywhere, etc to enable external Outlook clients). It appears that Outlook 2011/Mac circumvents these controls (presumably since it works through OWA) and allows external users to connect to and download local copies of Corporate emails.

I want to prohibit this behavior while still allowing internal Mac Outlook 2011 clients to connect.

It doesn't look like Outlook 2011 uses ActiveSync technologies like phones do so I don't think I can set up restrictions there.

Suggestions?
Whenever I click the Send/Receive button, Outlook begins sending an large unknown file. It does not indicate a file name; there is no unsent file in the Drafts folder; there is no indication of where or what the file is. I cannot stop this from happening. Eventually, I get an error message that the file exceeds file size limit.

At the bottom right of the window, the progress bar shows Sending... , and after the progress bar it states 0/2.

The only way I can get it to stop sending is to click on Tools, then the Progress icon; then click the X after the progress bar there.

I suspect I have a virus, but I don't know.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Bob

How can I create a shortcut to just check my e-mails? Everytime I want to check my mails, I have to go into Google or Internet Explorer first to search for the outlook sign in. With the Messenger I had it at my fingertip and now I have to search for it first! Don't like this outlook thing......:-(

Since the upgrade from hotmail to Outlook it has been a complete nightmare.  When I go to send messages no names were coming up to enter and since investigating, it is apparent that my contacts are still there but all their email addresses have disappeared.

I have tried this on another browser and computer and it is the same problem.

Please help as a matter of urgency.
