I use hotmail on my macbook pro through outlook care of microsoft office for mac 2011.
I was having problems with search functionality in outlook and, following advice on a forum I found, I deleted com.microsoft.outlook files from preferences in library.
I restarted my machine. Outlook was totally empty. I closed it down again and saw that outlook was in my trash. I dragged it back in to applications.
Then restarted and everything was gone.
I have a very important court case coming up and all my evidence is on email.
I am absolutely distraught about what has happened and desperately hope that there is some way of retrieving the information.
To make matters worse, my external hard drive (with time machine on it) has packed up. I'm sending it to Seagate to try and recover data but there's no guarantee that they will be able to get anything.

I am currently having a problem where I cannot access any subsequent page after page 1 in the inbox folder of my outlook account. Last week I had 4 pages worth of emails in my inbox folder, whereas now (without deleting any emails) I only have one page
worth of emails in my inbox folder. Furthermore, every time I receive a new email, the oldest email on page 1 is lost (presumably to page 2, which no longer exists). I then tried deleting emails from page one of the inbox, and no emails from page 2 ascended
to fill the empty space. No other folder in my outlook account was affected. The only other information I have is that I changed from using safari to firefox last week, but I'm not sure if that is coincidence or whether it is actually related to my current
problem.
SUMMARY
I only have page 1 of my inbox, page 2,3 etc does not exist. Every time I receive a new email, the oldest email in page 1 is lost (if page 1 is full)
How do I fix this problem?

After creating an outlook account. I can't access my hot mail account.

Can you please advise how I can change the 'name' associated with my various Outlook Aliases.
Whenever I change to an Alias, it still sends from the default full name on my account.
This defeats the purpose of an alias!

I have 2 outlook accounts--one for business and one for me personally, each with their own folders to categorize the emails. Now that account linking is gone, it's a real pain.
Anyone know how to transfer all of my folders w/emails to my "main account" (personal account). I am now forced to have a main (personal) account that forwards my formerly linked account (business account). Trouble is, when I do that, I no longer have
my folders and historical emails from the business account.

I was adding an email address to my outlook account (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***) so that I can send emails from that address. I think there were some security issues or something, because when I try to log into my hotmail account with my cell phone (galaxy s3) it doesn't
work.
I have no problem using hotmail on the web my tablet - it is just a problem with my Galaxy S3
The error is "*** Email address is removed for privacy *** sign-in failed"
