I have a hotmail.com account that's been compromised and I'm trying to get help from MS to get it back. I'm pasting an actual response from the MS Online Safety team (not the automated generic responses). But unfortunately, all this person recommends is posting my problem here at this forum. I'm unfamiliar with this community forum, but it seems unlikely that this issue is possible to be resolved here. It seems to me it will require direct intervention by Microsoft to reset the account. But as suggested (from MS email: *** Email address is removed for privacy ***) I am posting here on this forum in hopes that someone can help.

I'm writing from another personal email account to inform you that my hotmail.com account has been recently compromised.

On October 19, I was contacted by my credit card company to report suspicious charges on the account. The activity was fraudulent and when I attempted to log in to my hotmail.com account, I received a message that it may have been compromised.

Due the account being created many years ago when I was in college and lived in a different state, I've been unable to provide correct answers to many of the security questions. However, it also appears that some of the answers to questions (such as my security badge number) have been changed since the account has been compromised.

Please note, I also have been married since the creation of this account, so my last name is different.

I'm hoping that a support representative can contact me to provide me the opportunity to provide relevant identifying information so I can regain access to my hotmail.com account, erin********@hotmail.com (email altered for post to internet forum)
