Files to Big for moviemaler

I am trying to load clips in movie maker from a gopro.  The clips will play in windows media player but the bigger clips will not make it past the preparing step in windows movie maker.  It shows that the file is corrupt and needs to be removed.  Is there a way to edit or shrink the video prior to using movie maker?  gopro software had the same issue.  If the files will play in windows media player why wont they work in editing software?

I need help fast,
Have been working for many days and nights on this project(that is worth a huge portion of my grade) for my civics class using moive maker, I saved it and shut down my computer last night - today I went to open the project and a message pops up saying "Sorry, movie maker can't open this file. The file might not be compatible with Windows Live Movie Maker or be corrupt. Please select a different project file." 

VERY FRUSTRATED&DEPRESSED -
Please help ASAP.

Windows Movie Maker Prepare Video – Stopped by accident

Hi,

As I was importing videos into my Movie Maker, I clicked "stop" while it was "preparing" the video to be used in the movie. Now every video I import has bad resolution and distorted images. How do I get Movie maker to start "preparing" the videos again?

Hi There

I am trying to input some videos into Movie Maker which I have just downloaded and the files are Quick time Movie files and movie maker is saying they aren't compatible. Can someone please tell me what I need to do to these files or movie maker to make them compatible?

I have edited my movie in movie maker and now want to join the clips together, movie maker wont regognise the file type ? why not, having edited in movie maker surely I should be able to stitch together using the same programme?  ( note the English spellings !!)

Whenever I am working on a project I no longer use movie maker because a message pops up saying windows movie maker has stopped working-a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you when a solution is available. This happens consistently and is really infuriating. Please help.

Hello everyone!

One time (a couple of years ago) I used movie maker to create videos. I tried to do it again, but the program layout is changed, I can upload short videos but before I could view and modify contents seeing a section for audio, a section for images below and another section, if I don't remember wrong!  

Anyway, the visual was different from the one I have now, where is a window for preview the video created and beside the photogram and above all options (home, animations, effects, project, display/visualize).

I don't know if I explained well my problem! 

I would know if maybe is a old version that one I used or if there is an option that I can choose to visualize the old way to make videos.

movie maker captions start out alrignt then get blurry and seem to move up cutting part of the letters off in the caption

How do I fix this problem? Text in captions start out all right then part way through the movie they become blurred ans seem to move to the top cutting off part of the letters. This is as far into the movie that I have gotten. No Music yet

Movie Maker Not Saving To Computer?

I have recently been having problems with my version of moviemaker, Its the latest one for my computer, I'm on windows 7 so I have that version of movie maker. The problem is that I make my movies just fine, I mainly use gifs and just the movie maker text slides inserted inbetween and of course a bit of audio to finish it all off. I've always done this and never experienced a problem before but lately I have been trying to save my projects onto my computer to upload to other things and they just won't save, I click save project onto computer and it just freezes up on me and tells me its not responding and it stays that way so that I'm left with the problem of not being able to save to my computer. Help please?

hello Linda i had the same problem like you ...sorry my English a little poor but i hop that i can tell you what i want to say 
when saving the movie look what is written there and choose all files and then save it at the your library at this way i did solve the problem of saving
but i have a problem with sharing ....even i have channel at the you tube but i can't log inn from the movie maker 
and i don't understand why they put that we can share at the face book when we can not after i try to publish my movie on the face book it shows black 
so please if you find the solution for this problem please send to me
