incompatible video files in movie maker

Hi, I am trying to make a slide show in Windows movie maker of videos and slides I took on holiday on my Samsung galaxy s3 mobile. 

 

I have been working on it for days and just noticed that some of the videos play fine but others say they are incompatible / corrupt. 

 

 I went on google+ where all my videos are backed up, checked one of the problem ones played and it did.  Downloaded and inserted this one and the same thing happened.  Then I tried downloading some free software to convert it to .wmv and the same thing still happens, just says error 0x8007000E. 

 I don't understand why some work and some don't when they are from the same source?

I would like to crossfade two tracks together on movie maker like in the XP/Vista version. is this still possible? if not, what software do you recommend I could do it on?

I've created a movie (pictures, video and music) using movie maker version 6.1 on windows 7 (which also has installed MM vers 16.4).   The 6.1 version has a lock symbol on it in my video  folder and won't play after recording on a cd.  Assume the lock is somehow affecting the recording so it can't be played on the dvd player (though will play on my computer).  Tried duplicating the movie using vers 16.4 and every time I add a video it shows loading audio data and freezes.  Very frustrating.  Have tried the several suggestions about checking codecs and windows essentials but there  seem to be no problems.  Appreciate any help possible.  Many thanks.

How do I open the timeline and story board feature in Windows 8 that I used to have on the Vista Movie Maker?

My computer meets the requirements for movie maker, but it wont work….

I installed movie maker but when I open the program I get the following:

"Sorry, movie maker can't start. make sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements before trying to start movie maker again, and then try to update the driver for your video card if movie maker still doesnt start.

what are the system requirements for movie maker?

I'm not sure it's not working. Hopefully someone can help. What information do you folks need to help me diagnose the problem?

hi have windows 8, movie maker, but there is no way its telling me how to make my movie work on a dvd player, can it be done still as in older windows

Okay so, I updated windows movie maker so i could get the video speed up option which for some reason i didn't already have. And now after it downloaded windows essentials, it doesn't work... This is what it says:

"Sorry, Movie Maker can't start. Make sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements before trying to start movie maker again, and then try to update the driver for your video card if Movie Maker still doesn't start."

I don't see what i would have to change, it worked fine before the update thing... I've tried everything, i've tried every compatibility setting, restoring previous version which still doesn't work. I've tried the troubleshooting option when you right click the program. I really need this fixed before the 15th of September because i have a movie festival to enter and if movie maker isn't working for me by then, then im screwed D:

I am trying to import video files off my camera/ laptop into moviemaker (windows 8). Still photos and music is fine, but the video clips with MOV extension will not import.

 

Any suggestions why and what to do ?

This is happening to me as well except i edit the film and then i save it and when i open it again in movie maker its black but the audio is still there so i am at a lose as to what to do! can you help me?

OKAY CHECK THIS OUT, I HAVE THE UPDATED VERSION POSSIBLE WHICH IS THE 2012 VERSION, WHEN I OPEN THE PROJECT MY VIDEOS ARE IN THE TIMELINE BUT IT WONT PLAY AND IS A BLACK SCREEN,   

IVE TRIED THE MICROSOFT FIX IT TOOL
ALL OF MY DRIVES ARE UP TO DATE I LOOKED SEVERAL TIMES
I ALSO TRIED CONVERTING THE FILES AS WELL
I UNINSTALLED MOVIE MAKER AND REINSTALLED

I EVEN REFRESHED MY WINDOWS 8 SEVERAL TIMES

I ALSO TRIED RESTORING IT TO A FEW DAYS BEFORE THE PROBLEM OCCURED
I TRIED MESSING WITH THE COMPATIBILITY

 

GIVE ME SOME OTHER SOULUTION BESIDES THE ONES I MENTIONED..
