i imported one of my .mov files so that i can trim a part of the video. i was able to trim it nicely, but i can't hear any sound. i saved the result of the trimming hoping that the new file includes the sound (was thinking maybe movie maker can't play
the sound, but can save the original sound file of the video and i'll be able to hear it if i play it on another program). but the new file - the "trimmed" file - has no sound either! i played it in quicktime. went back to this project in movie maker,
tried turning up the volume to the max under the"edit" tab , but i still can't hear any sound. my laptop's volume is at max too. my original file has sound, i played it in quicktime. i'm using windows 8. please help..thanks..

I have Lenovo G560 ,Intel core i3 CPU *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, 2Gb Ram ( 1.87 usuable), 64 bit operating system, running Windows 7 home premium.
I have checked display driver ,it says its up to date, I have reload Windows Live Essentials ( Twice).
I have run a limited start up but still the pesky thing wont work! I made a video of my daughters wedding but now can't view it can any body tell me how to get this program working again and why it has stopped working?
Is Windows Live essentials 2012 compatable with my Windows7 or do I need to install Windows Essentials 2011?
Oh nearly forgot I have DirectX 11, it shows DDI 10, on a DXdiag, so why wont it work?

I can make a movie with movie maker, everything works great. I save the movie but do not upload as I want to get some audio to add to it. When I reopen it although it shows all the video, photos and text on the working screen, it will only play the photo's
and text. I cannot play the video content. Very frustrating as I spend a lot of time making the movie and can see it on the screen as still shots, but the screens are just black when I play them.

Movie maker doesn't allow to open .xesc files from Microsoft Encoder screen capture to edit. I have seen this file types are not supported by Windows Movie Maker. Any one has a suggestion on editing .xesc files ? Is Microsoft coming up with any updates for Windows Movie Maker to edit XESC files ?

I am unable to see preview in windows live movie maker and other windows live application like photo gallery. I bought sony vaio laptop in February and it has pre-installed windows 7 home premium. when it was brand new the movie maker preview utility was working fine but when the windows take update from your site, after some time the the preview utility gives only a blank and black screen.
I thought, it was some technical problem with my laptop so I restored my laptop. after that the preview utility working fine but after taking some update from your site its gone again. I am using 2011 version and I am sending you my windows movie maker screen shot you can see how my preview looks like. I thing there will be some problem with Microsoft update.
So please solve my problem as soon as possible.

I am trying to upload 8 powerpoint slides to movie maker to be able to upload to youtube. However, movie maker is telling me that it doesn't support the ending.
I saved the files as jpg but they have sound on them is this is what is creating the problem? How do I do this????

hi there was a problem on old version of movie maker.. thus i try to download another and now it doesnt open and says sorry, movie maker can't start. make sue your computer meets the minimum system requirements before trying to start movie maker again,
and then try to update the drive for your video card if movie maker still doesnt start. i tried hard but cannot get solution. so please help me to start movie maker.
