Once again, Microsoft appears to be doing their own thing ie changing Hotmail to switch over to outlook at least this is what appears to be and now we all are having issues obtaining our emails This is not only frustrating and taxing to each and every customer it would be nice that a simple statement or fix be available. Only thing I got is unable to open out look at this time. I got looking and found another statement that all Hotmail would end in August and all email would be archived? What is a customer to do? If I change email how would I recover my archived email under a different user name? any thought? appears Microsoft never put any thought into this before implementing. Again what is a customer suppose to do? Forget sending me an email with an answer it don"t work!

Since this morning, I am having trouble opening my inbox. It seems that I have signed it, since I can access my account details, but I can't access my inbox. I tried cleaning the browser history, restarting computer, installing Windows Live mail but nothing has worked. The error message on Windows Live mail is:

Unable to send or receive messages for the Live (*******) account.

Server Error: 5102

Server: 'https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'

Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE20003

Is that an issue with the service or something wrong with my account ?

Password reset link is broken, “service is temporarily unavailable”

I am trying to reset the password on a Microsoft email account. Microsoft sent me a link for the reset -- when I click on the link for the reset I get a Microsoft screen with a message that says:

There's a temporary problem.

There's a temporary problem with the service. Please try again. If you continue to get this message, try again later.

The thing is.....the link NEVER works -- no matter how often I try it. I tried changing all of the security settings on my computer, I thought maybe my filters were blocking the link, but that didn't work. Any other ideas?

Are these genuine microsoft emails

I received 2 email from Microsoft regarding an email account I do not recognise or have ever used. are these email genuine and are they from Microsoft? I have pasted the emails below;

Close my microsoft account ASAP!

I recently bought a laptop with Windows 8, and created 2 microsoft accouts.

Now, I want to close one account, I don't need it.

The account I want to keep is *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

The account I want to close is *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

but it seems impossible to delete!

The message I receive is:

To close *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

You need to cancel any paid services or Microsoft Points account associated with your Microsoft account.

Well, I DON'T HAVE ANY PAID SERVICE OR MICROSOFT POINT, I JUST WANNA CLOSE THIS D**N ACCOUNT, but at Microsoft seems that you can never keep things simple and userfriendly!

I've already deactivated the outlook account related to the email address *** Email address is removed for privacy ***.

NOW..... Since I am a Microsoft customer, and you have the duty to keep things simple and help me keeping the bother level as low as possible for me, I say to you:

“I grant you my permission to access and close my Windows Live ID.”

SO, do whatever is needed to do, delete that account COMPLETELY, and once you've done report to my other account email address:

I don't want to make any other mouse click or whatever operation you invented to keep things complicated. I've already wasted too much time trying by myself. Do your work, and close the account, and do it fast as the wind. I'll keep checking my email box for the only news I want to read, that is to say that "the account is closed, and sorry for every inconvenience, we'll create a better deleting account system very soon".

Cannot add an email address as an alias that I used previously in a now deactivated account

I have had several Microsoft accounts through the years. The current one I am now using will not let me add my gmail address as an alias, because it says it is already in use. I have logged in to all my old accounts (3 now no longer used), made sure that email address is out of there, and closed the one account that I could. The other 2 say I need to close all services first to close the account, though I cannot figure out what services it means or how to do that. Is there any way someone at Microsoft could correct this for me so I can add my gmail account (used for all my email with friends) to my outlook account (used for xbox, skydrive, messenger, everything else)? And while we are at it, maybe help me close those other 2 accounts? Thanks!

Microsoft deleted All my hotmail e-mails and folders

Since being made to switch from Hotmail to Outlook, all of my existing Hotmail messages and folders have been lost in the migration.

Is there any way to get these back? Are Microsoft aware of the problem and are working on a fix? Or have all of the emails been lost?

Why do Microsoft never directly answer product questions?

It is always some user on some forum which is never an authorative answer.

Whether it be Skype

"How do I change my Online Number payments from every 3 months to annual?"

"what are the pop and smtp settings for my Outlook.com account?"

"is Outlook.com email encrypted or just the login as is the case with yahoo?"

and most other questions too...........

As with all large corporations, they lose sight of their customers and their root and who made them great. and arrogance sets in.

1. I would like to close my Microsoft Account *** Email address is removed for privacy *** so I can hopefully in a year merge it as a alias with my other (primary) acccount that all my stuff is on.

However I get this message when I try to close it out:

"You need to cancel any paid services or Microsoft Points account associated with your Microsoft account."

I looked around, I dont seem to have any paiservices, or points on this account.

2. Also, I would like my mark my calendar when this account ill be ready for recycle. Is it exactly 1 year? 365 days? I herd somewhere its really only 180 days.
