After almost a year of great service, OUTLOOK.COM is now unable to access my domain account servers at Yahoo Small Business since August 1st.  This is a paid web hosting Yahoo service.  The servers are pop/smtp.bizmail.yahoo.com.  The error generated within OUTLOOK.COM is:

"We couldn't sign in to your POP3 server. Please make sure your username and password are correct."

My user name and password are correct as evidenced by everything but OUTLOOK.COM being fully able to get my mail from these servers.  This includes my Outlook 2013 client on a W8 desktop and W8 Laptop, Windows Mail (from Windows 8), Windows Phone 8 mail account, SurfacePro (using both the client and the Mail app).  And, all the above use the same settings I've used with OUTLOOK.COM.

I've had quite literally a hundred suggestions from Microsoft sources on things to check, delete and re-add the account, change ports, etc.  The latest, from a "Level 2" tech from a ticket raised on www.support.microsoft.com is that "Microsoft servers and Yahoo servers are simply not going to be able to reliably communicate."

Can this be verified as Microsoft's position?  If so, then I feel like I've done the wrong thing investing so heavily in Microsoft Windows 8 products and I'll need to completely change all my OS, Mail and Phone schemes.  I'm begging for a solution and I would pay (in fact I have paid and they had to refund my money because what I bought doesn't cover the "free" OUTLOOK.COM service).

Help!

P.

Employees at our company are now getting this error when signing up for Microsoft Accounts. Is there a way we can add our IP address to a whitelist or something so that we won't get this error?

Thanks,
Eric
My account has been hacked and i just got the password recovered.  The hacker will probably get it changed again as the phone number is wrong on my account.  How can i update my phone # on my account so that they don't get back in again?  Is there a possibility that they are in my pc and searching everything else in there?  I called Microsoft support ( a # I got off google.ca) and they said it is being used in the Phillipines and Microsoft needs a technician to go online via  remote access to remove the hacker information.  I didn't feel comfortable with him doing that so I ended my call.  Pls HELP I am feeling helpless and very concerned with my personal information being invaded.  Thank you.
Hi, Microsoft wants me to provide a phone number. Done. They say - a code was sent to your phone number, They did not send it. I repeated this several times. The result is the same.  Finally, I changed my alternative email.  They sent a code there. But when back to my Hotmail account, I typed the code, they do not provide me with access to my email. Instead, they say it will take 30 day to update the change of the email.  Ok about the change, but what about the access to my email.  This is very unreliable.   Why they do that?
Hello,

First I'd like to say that finding an answer about Hotmail is a nightmare. I don't know about other products but it is just unbelievable.
Second: I don't think other users should be "used" by Microsoft to do what Microsoft should be doing, helping its customers.

Third, I am just lost with Windows mail, Windows Live mail, Hotmail, Outlook... What is the point behind all those programs?

My question: there used to be an acknowledge window when one had just sent an email. Is it gone with the arrival of wonderful Outlook? Besides, I see the posts of many users asking for an receipts acknowledgement. Answers: there is no such thing OR go to Windows live and do this and do that. I have (apparently) Windows Live and I just don't see those Tabs and the delivery option. Just what I was saying at the beginning: a maze!

Cheers,
CD

Why does an email from a Microsoft certified "Trusted Sender" which has the Green Shield end up in my junk mail folder? I have read the other similar questions and the moderator's responses seem to be confusing "Trusted Sender" with "safe sender". I know how to get to the "safe sender" options under inbox/options/ preventing junk email/safe and blocked senders. If you are a moderator answering this question, please know what a microsoft "Trusted Sender" is before answering.

Thanks for your help

Why the heck does Microsoft not send out a fix updates for the same problems in their programms that people experience everyday ? Like URL links that don't open from within the new Outlook ?  There are hundreds of people struggling for answers - but NO answers or FIXES from Microsoft !  Why ?

Why does the user have to spend hours and hours searching blogs for answeres that Microsoft does not address ?? They know the problems are there because they surely read these blogs and their own fault rerporting system is so pathetic - BUT they simply ignore it !! It's such a shame on MS !!
