Email accounts @myacu.edu.au have recently been merged onto outloook.com.

There are a number of students how now cannot access their email and this has been reported to Microsoft by Australian Catholic University (ACU).

 

Specifically, using hte new log in page for outlook.com, existing usernames and passwords no longer work. This has meant I have been unable to access emails for several days. This is a major problem given the work/emails and responses required to emails sent to this email address.

 

As this has been reported to Microsoft, can someone please advise when this will be issued?

 

I am happy to provide my username 'offline'.

 

All other previous steps ,e,g clearing cache, history etc have been undertaken and ACU IT have reported this fault with Microsoft.

 

Looking forward to this being resolved ASAP.

 

 

 

For no apparent reason, Microsoft has locked me out of my Hotmail account.

I have then had TWO attempts at filling out the questionnaire form. How could this possibly be, the ONLY security process to gain access back to your account???

On the questionnaire I answered the five questions as follows;

- I have entered two previous passwords
- I have entered two recent sent emails
- I have NOT created any other folders other than the defaults
- I do not remember email addresses whom I have sent recent emails to
- I DO NOT have an Xbox Live prepaid card number. Therefore, I answered the questions to the best of my ability.

I have been told my answers were not good enough, and I need to create a new account. I also spoke to two customer service agents who could not resolve the situation, but also advised me to simply create a new account. They also would not put me on to a manager regarding the matter.

It is not that simple, I have content, business matter and important emails and documents that I need access to on this specific account, and for me to be denied access TO MY OWN ACCOUNT and told to create a new one, is not acceptable.

The 'security measures' for Hotmail are to answer five questions about the content of the email account, that is not good enough. I was even willing to send through copy’s of my driver’s license or birth certificate (which mind you, are PROPER security measures) but no, I’m told that ISNT the process.

This is ridiculous and I am not happy at all, these so called 'security measures' actually work against you.

Someone please get back to me as soon as possible with a RESOLUTION, what else can I do (besides the questionnaire) to get my account back.

I have a brand new Samsung Galaxy S3 running Android 4.1.1. I just downloaded the Outlook app from Microsoft and it is not working. I looks like I am able to send emails but I cannot receive them. When I try to sync my email account it looks like it is trying to sync, but then nothing appears in the inbox. 

I am able to access my SkyDrive account through the Skydrive app on my phone with no problem. I am also able to access all of my other Microsoft accounts on my computer without a problem. I am only having a problem with using my email account in the Outlook app on my cell phone.

I was FORCED by Microsoft to abandon Hotmail and switch (Chose NOT to download Outlook) to whatever inferior email program Microsoft has substituted for Hotmail and as of July 11th (NO CHANGES MADE TO MY SETTINGS BY ME) the settings I have maintained in Hotmail for over a DECADE no longer keep junk mail out of my email and want to know WHY!  I have made NO changes in settings, I have NOT signed up for new programs, new sites, etc.  I am getting 7 to 10 JUNK EMAILS A DAY since July 11th and no one seems to have any answer other than the redundant, in effectual, robotic answers like:  "set Junk mail settings to exclusive (DONE), "clear your cache" (DONE) and other ineffectual verbage from "moderators".  I wnat to know WHY Microsoft has deemed it necessary to negate all of the WORKING FEATURES of Hotmail and FORCED me to use an inferior program that IGNORES MY SETTINGS.  I WANT YOU TO STOP THE JUNK MAIL THAT HAS BEEN INUNDATING MY EMAIL NOW - YOU BROKE IT - YOU FIX IT.  Gmail is getting better looking all of the time and I'm even considering purchasing an email program that does what I need and want it to do - OUTLOOK SUCKS1
My mom's been locked out of her hotmail account that she has been using for forever after being told that someone has been trying to hack into her account.  She is not too computer savy so I have been trying to help her to recover it. We've tried all the routine online avenues and even called microsoft which stated they would start a case and get back to us in 24hrs, a time frame that was never kept but when they eventually answered we were sent here, to read.  Isn't there a way that she can actually get someone in the microsoft tean to help her get her account back instead of sending us around in circles?  She really would prefer not to loose the account since it has all her important school docs and graduation pictures saved in it.

Problem:
So when I log in, outlook brings up this message "It looks like someone else might be using your account"
I go to send the conformation code and it has only listed my old validation email address which has been closed a long time ago.
So there is no way for me to retrieve this code, I have previously put a new validation email but has not shown up in the options.
The only thing I am able to do from this stage is send it to the closed account or fill out a validation form. (Validation form i have attempted to do 3 times and each time It was rejected until on the 3rd attempt I received this message:-

"Your security is important to us
Recently, we received several requests to gain access to kiko_iz_in_da_house@hotmail.. Unfortunately, we were unable to verify your ownership using the information that was provided. Microsoft takes the security and privacy of our customers very seriously. We are committed to protecting your personal information, and our careful account recovery process is intended to protect you from any possible malicious activity."

Now for the weird thing in this whole mess, I am able to change my password from the most recently updated validation email address which I am able to send password recovery emails too. I have changed the password multiple times in hopes to be able to override the "It looks like someone else might be blahblahblah" mess. Yet still no progress.

Please help I'm getting desperate here, this email is currently registered to multiple services such as xbox live, music stores, game licences etc.
Its very valued and this has never happened to this extend before.

Last time I had access to this account was through mobile app on my HTC a few days ago.

I very much miss Live Mesh's ability to synch any folder on my PC to Skydrive.  Is there going to be the ability to do this in Windows 8.1, or will Microsoft still require everything to be in the Skydrive folder on my PC.  If so, does anyone know of a good competitor that has this functionality?

I'd prefer to use Skydrive, but if MS wants to require that docs be essentially cloud based and in a file/folder structure of their determination, then I would rather use another service.   If MS's Skydrive Pro does this, then I am okay paying a reasonable price for this ability.
