Here is response I receive when using your tool:
"You can't use your alternate email address as Microsoft account. Please enter a different Microsoft account."
I even, just now, tried re-adding and then removing the email (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***) as an alternate hoping it would fix the problem / clear the system issue on your end.
Please make the Engineering Team aware of the problem, so they may work to fix it.

Whenever I try to do this I get the following answer:
You recently updated your security info
We have a waiting period for the updates to take effect. On 23/8/2013, we'll delete your old security info:
(gives me an alternative email address I never use)
Once this has been deleted, you'll be able to verify your account with info you have access to. If you didn't make the updates, or if you still have access to the above info, cancel the updates.
Therefore that means that I have to wait a month for something or other but in a couple of days time my subscription will run out and I am not able to put my new Visa details in the system. There is no one human I can call or email and so I am stuck and I will lose all my emails. I have had a Hotmail account for approx 10 years and I have a lot of stuff on this account that I don't want to lose.Please could someone advise me how I can urgently edit my bank details and overcome this problem (without too much technical jargon) and in a way that works? Monday evening I received an email from Microsoft letting me know my email address had been changed and making me provide a new password. 15 minutes after finally being able to login and I received another email that my account name had been changed and another link to change my password. I have finally managed to login and add my original msn email address to alias list but have lost all emails prior to change over.
I have followed the advice on the Microsoft webpage and changed the conversation thread option in the options section and went into deleted and pressed undo delete.
These do not work.
I need those emails for work. Also appear to be looked out of skydrive
