Need access to my hotmail account

09. September 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: Hotmail Account, Microsoft account
Here is my original question:

I lost access to an email address a few years ago due to it sending spam mail out to loads of people. I couldn't remember my password to sort my problem as I was just signed in 24/7. Recently I tried to log in again and managed to remember my password. When I log in I'm taken to a screen that says:  It looks like someone else might be using your account
To help you—and only you—get back into ******@msn.com, we need to verify that it's yours.
To verify it I need to send a security code to the hotmail account associated with it. I believe I have access to the right one but no matter how many times I click the button I simply don't get the email containing the code. This leads me to believe it's either the wrong account I'm looking in or the link to send the email doesn't work (as I've seen a few others say). Resetting my password doesn't fix the problem and neither does filling out a form. I simply can't remember enough info for them to be satisfied. I made the account when I was very young so probably filled boxes with any old rubbish just wanting to get on MSN messenger.

I've spoken to 3 support agents regarding this issue on the Xbox Live website as this hotmail account is also linked to my Xbox Live and can't sign in until it's sorted. Each time I'm pretty much put through to fill out a form. It simply doesn't work. I need to regain access to this account to fix my Xbox Live issues. I have the current password and two before it and the secret answer to my question if that helps at all.

After asking that I had the reply:

Hello Paul,

We appreciate your time for posting your concern here in the Microsoft Community. I understand that you can't access your Microsoft account. To better address your concern, we request that you post your question on a private support request. This would allow one of our Hotmail/Outlook.com Moderators to handle your concerns directly. To do that, please follow these steps:

1. Go to this link.
2. Select the specific error that you are receiving.
3. Fill in the required information.
4. Click on Submit.

Note: Please be informed that I’ve locked this thread.

Thank you.

After that:

I did exactly that and copied my question from here to there word for word. After waiting 9 hours my reply was:

Hi,

After reviewing the information you provided and looking at your account details, I’ve determined that you need to reset your password to recover your account.
Please read this help article “Hacked Account” and follow all the steps to scan your computer, reset your password at https://account.live.com/password/reset and recover your account.

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/hotmail/hacked-account-faq

If you cannot recover your account, please go to https://account.live.com/acsr and submit a separate support request to Microsoft account recovery support to get a new password.

Note: Copy and paste the link to your browser's address bar.

Regards.

My issue now:

I clearly stated that "resetting my password doesn't fix the problem" but my words aren't taken into account by official Microsoft support... I want to regain access to my account, I shouldn't be put into countless loops of doing the same things if it obviously won't work. I almost feel like I was being spoken to like I was stupid. I'd reset my password three times prior to these questions to no avail and a fourth time after getting my response just for good measure. Nothing. Please don't reply with "fill out a new form and wait for an answer in the next 24 hours" as I'm just going to end up making a third question on here after waiting a pointless amount of hours. I just want access to my account. If you know full well your answer is going to bring me back to exactly where I am now then please don't just lock this thread after your one reply. Help your customer actually fix his problem.  I'm currently paying your company a monthly fee for a service I can't even use (Xbox Live) and I'm not having my problem resolved. You have my subject number in the above pasted text, surely you can re-raise the issue.

Thanks

UPDATE

I'm not sure why but I was sent an email from Microsoft account team (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***) saying:

Did you request a password reset for your Microsoft account (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***)?

If you requested this password reset, go here:
https://account.live.com/password/resetconfirm...

If you didn't make this request, use this link to cancel it:
https://account.live.com/password/resetcancel...
Thanks,
The Microsoft account team

I reset my password again through this link and I still have the same error when trying to log in.

Microsoft account exists, but does not exist

Hi,

I have absolutely no hope for this post whatsoever, but for some inane reason Microsoft does not provide support for Microsoft accounts. Great job.

I had an email account for outlook.com - let's call it *** Email address is removed for privacy *** - I used this email address to sign up to many different websites and services.

I then bought Office 365 (student edition) - which for the record was an absolute nightmare and support for that was, unexpectedly, terrible as well. However, this could only be achieved through my student account. I renamed that particular account (as I was told I could not merge that and *** Email address is removed for privacy ***) to something else, which is my current primary account. This account I would like to use for all future purposes, as it has my 365 subscription. However, I've signed up for everything with my old *** Email address is removed for privacy *** account.

So I see email aliases, and decide I could make a new alias on *** Email address is removed for privacy *** (let's say John.Smith.Old) and then remove the original *** Email address is removed for privacy *** account - After 30 days, according to every Microsoft piece of information on the internet, this account should be available to be registered again, so I could use *** Email address is removed for privacy *** as an alias on my new email account.

This however is not the case. For some reason I can neither add it as an alias ("This e-mail already exists") or even log into it ("The Microsoft account is incorrect. Please try again"). Therefore the address seems both registered, and unregistered.

As originally posted, I don't expect much from this account, but it's absolutely ridiculous that all of the products that I'm registered with I now do not have access to thanks to Microsoft's inadequacy to develop obvious usability features into their products.

Prove me wrong.

Alias Email Verification email

09. September 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: account email, Microsoft account, verification
Hi,

I have setup a microsoft account for a new laptop with windows 8 on it.

I am however having issues getting a verification email going to my alias, that I wish to make the primary account email once it is verified.

No matter what I try the email to verify just does not end up in the my email so I cannot verify.

I can email this account myself, and so can other people, but I never get my verification email, and it is not in my junk folder either.

Is there anyway to verify an email address without this email? or a way to get someone to send me the verification email manually?

Thanks in advance.

Jim

Help with one Microsoft account rename and/or adding alias inside custom domain

08. September 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: microsoft, Microsoft account

Hi,
I am owner of "mydomain.com" which is successfully added to domains.live.com and I can manage all my users and they are recieving emails..

I have about 10 users, with ther e-mail addresses (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***), and I have added alias for each of them (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***) using your API and wlalias.exe tool.

I do have problem with one particular user, unique ID - 0003BFFD93977016.

I want to rename this user from (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***) to (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***) , of course newname is not used anywhere.

When users goes to https://account.live.com/names/Manage (Account Aliases), it has only one - primary alias, and Rename option is missing.

Also there is text: Your organization's policies prevent you from changing your primary alias.

I am admin and where can I change this policy and how can I rename Microsoft account using my same domain (@mydomain.com) , on domains.live.com portal I do not see option for rename also.

For this particular user, also I can not add any alias, it fails with: The call failed with outcome: SoapException - Error 9003: Passport error.

Unfortunatly user has lot of different services (Skype, Skydrive, Outlook.com, MCP and much more) and option to delete it - is not an option :)

Please help me how to rename this Microsoft account and / or add different Account alias.

cannot add custom domain account

08. September 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: custom domain account, Live Custom Domain setup, Microsoft account
I have a Live Custom Domain setup and a user created in the domain. I want to use my normal Outlook.com account to send/receive mail from that Live Custom Domain account. If I try to add it as a send/receive account in Outlook.com, Outlook.com refuses to add the account and suggests that I instead link the other Microsoft account. Of course, linking Microsoft accounts was cancelled long ago. So how do I use my normal Outlook.com account to send/receive mail from my Custom Domain account?

Need help closing my hotmail.com account. The system is asking me to deactivate my billing account ?

Hello,

I need help closing my hotmail.com account. The system is asking me to deactivate my billing account ?

You need to deactivate your Hotmail account. Once you've done that, your Microsoft account will be closed automatically after a period of inactivity.

Then I got the following message :

Deactivate your Outlook account

To close your Outlook account, you must first cancel your billing service. Go to Microsoft Account and Billing Services at https://billing.microsoft.com.

I can't find any way to cancel this billing account...

Thanks

I can’t install Skype with my Microsoft account

I've been trying to install Skype in Windows 8, but it says that my email address is no longer available. When I click "sign in again," a page appears saying that:

"You've lost access to your email

The inbox you've been using is no longer available. This can occur when your account is owned by an organization, or when someone else confirms ownership of the email address.
You haven't lost access to the other services you use with your Microsoft account. However, you must choose a new primary alias to continue.
"

How is it that I am able to sign into my email accounts (Hotmail and Gmail) , but I cant access my Microsoft account?

I am unable to verify an email address / new alias on my Microsoft Account. I've tried all the steps in clearing cache, different browsers but I am still getting the same error page.

There's a temporary problem

There's a temporary problem with the service. Please try again. If you continue to get this message, try again later.

Well... I've tried again later... Many times!

Can I get some help on this?

Thanks!

Skydrive sign in problem after changing microsoft account

07. September 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: account details, Microsoft account
I signed in to skydrive successfully on my new windows 8 desktop but erroneously closed the microsoft account and so had to set up a new one.  When i now try to log in to Skydrive it persistently displays my old e-mail address and won't recognise the new account details.  If I try to follow the instruction to sign in with a new e-mail address I get the message "There was a problem with signing you in".  This is despite the new microsoft account working perfectly well for everything else and indeed it allowed me to open a skydrive account on a new tablet without any problems.  How can a resolve this please and am I just doing something wrong?
