Reciveved this email last week and can't tell if it is a phishing scam or not??

It has the green badge of a recognised sender but the emial address mentioned in the e-mail is not mine. Also there were two other e-mails from the same source. One asking to confirm an alternative email address by clicking a big button with a similar email address in it, and a second then providing a long link to change my e-mail. All relatd tot he mystery email in the emial below?

It seems suspicious but looks the most ligitimate I've ever seen if it is Phishing...Any Advice?

The first e-mail was.....

microsoft account getting one has taken 2 weeks

This  windows8 system must be the best advertisment for Apple I have come across!

it has taken 2 weeks to get this far.

first the new PC with supposedly pre installed Win8 on it would not recognise the internet modem therefor cant activate the  system. cant establish  an email account  cant download needed software.

MANUFACTURER SAID FIT A NEW Mother board. never asked what  errors I was getting, or what the  problem was  just wanted personal info and model no.

finally  we found that by re installing windows8 twice we go it loaded uncorrupted and it actually  went online  woopeeee!

next  we need to have a Microsoft account to be able to get an email set up . sounds easy

we have an email account with our National  internet provider .....  nope  windows wont accept other than Hotmail or live mail 'emails !!

oh but to have an Microsoft  account  you have to have an @outlook.com account....

fine, put that in  add passwords and security verification codes 20 times

log out and log in again to check . nope wont accept the password  then when we try to  re create the unverified account  just established it tells me it is already allocated ( yes to me but wont accept  the log in )

ok modify the  account email  & get a new account

it then asks for a code to verify

sends the code to the email  that I cant access because I don't have a  Microsoft account..

being resourceful I  start the dying old PC we are replacing get the code from there on the old email "outlook express" (great   emailer too it was, but that 10yr old machine is sadly  underpowered and takes an hour to boot up to the email)

return to  the Win* machine  enter the code .  does it work  NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

sorry temporary server problems  come back later ,, I think it said I have a week to verify that I am not a robot hacking tool

now you want me to keep all my business  and research and data  stuff on a cloud  ( someone else's mainframe)  that is just as likely to be down when I want it.

please . make this  whole future a little more user friendly or so help me  MS will become a boat ANCHOR  & APPLE  THE COMPUTERS OF CHOICE

The email from my original Microsoft account is no longer valid and I don't remember the password to it.  I can't reset the password because it would be sent to my old email.  I only got the microsoft account for xbox live and have never logged in on a computer.  This was set up years ago and I tried to log in using old passwords but didn't get it right and probably tried too many times.  I also tried the "recover my account" form and answered the generic questions but it says not enough info.  If I could talk to someone I could answer personal information that can prove who I am.  I created this new account so I could ask this question so I don't care if I recover the old microsoft account or if I can just attach this account to my gamertag and xbox live account but that of course requires my old password.  Please help!

Recover Microsoft Account (Windows LIVE ID)

20. September 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: Microsoft account, Windows Live ID
Greetings to all,

I have been having numerous issues with my Microsoft Account together with Xbox LIVE and my Gamertag.
In all of my fiddling and "fixing" and speaking to Xbox Support I have deleted my Microsoft Account (Windows LIVE ID).

This naturally has affected my access to Xbox LIVE and my gamertag is now an offline account.

Is there anyway I can recover my Microsoft Account?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Glenn

Link multiple skydrives together

Hello.

My school has just set up a new intranet, which uses a pre-set email account for login. This account seems to work as a Microsoft account
Their system has a link to skydrive, how-ever I'm already using skydrive, on an other Microsoft account.

Is there a way that i can link these two accounts?

I can log in to my calander, but when i click mail from the pulldown menu it says: "You're currently signed in with an Office 365 email account, which can't be used with Outlook.com. Please click here to sign out of your Office 365 account, then use another Microsoft account to sign in to Outlook.com (for example, your hotmail.com, live.com, or msn.com account). "  But i'm already logged in to my calander.  What gives?

I also am having trouble logging in to my mail directly.

exchange account and mobile Outlook.com app

I have a Microsoft Exchange email account for my work email and use Outlook on my laptop while at work. I have added the android Outlook.com app to my phone. My work email address is the primary one for my new Microsoft account. No email shows up in the mobile app. I assumed there would be a setup step within the mobile app for specifying the server. My resident email app does.

Windows Live account

I have a windows live account.  When I try to log in (at the Outlook.com page) I receive this message:

You're currently signed in with an Office 365 email account, which can't be used with Outlook.com. Please click here to sign out of your Office 365 account, then use another Microsoft account to sign in to Outlook.com (for example, your hotmail.com, live.com, or msn.com account).

However, I do not believe I am signed in at another Office 365 account and would not know how to close it.  Any help would be great.

How do I cancel a previous (unused & free of charge) subscription so that I can finally close my microsoft account?

19. September 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: microsoft, Microsoft account, Microsoft points, subscription
I am trying to delete my microsoft account but I keep getting the message: "You need to cancel any paid services or Microsoft Points account associated with your Microsoft account."

When I click on the "cancel" link, I go the subscriptions page and it's an "OWL Subscription (current)" however I haven't used this for years and it is free of charge but an unlimited subscription (i.e. appears to expire on the year 9999).

I tried talking to the relevant department on the phone and they are unable to delete this subscription, it isn't charged to any credit card or anything as it was originally from an app on my old phone from back in 2009.

Please help.
