Windows Live Mail FAQ

restore or recreate password

30. October 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: Microsoft account

I hastily closed my microsoft account, but need to reopen it.  However, when I try to restore it I get the message that the email address "does not exist" and when I try to create a new account I get a message that the email address is "unavailble."  I currently use this address to sign on to my computer but would like to, again, use it to sign on to a microsoft account.

I noticed that this is a fairly routine question so I am hoping that there is a simple solution (and there certainly should be),  I really do not want to create a new account and computer log on.

Thank you.

Receiving Birthday Calendar Notifications from a Closed Microsoft Account

I am still receiving Birthday Calendar notifications from a Microsoft account that I had closed in the past 6 months.  Because the account was closed, there is no way to be able to log back into the account to check and/or change the Birthday Calendar settings.  Therefore, I decided to re-create the Microsoft account by using the same credentials including the same email address that I used with the original account.  I thought that I would somehow then be able to regain access to the original Birthday Calendar.  However, this did not work and all I succeeded in doing was creating a new and different Microsoft account, even though it uses the same email address as the closed Microsoft account.  I would like the original Birthday Calendar closed/removed permanently and the notifications stopped please.  I will await a Microsoft Support Representative's response via private message, then I will respond with the necessary information.  Thank you.

My nephew was using my Surface RT and some how accidentally ended up closing my Microsoft account used to log in to the Surface RT, then set it back to factory settings. I created the one I am using now as a temporary account on my laptop, so that I am able to post this. The account that got closed was *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, is there any way that it can be re-opened because I use that email for just about everything.

My Skydrive no longer syncs since upgrade to 8.1. I am signed into microsoft account on both desktop and laptop. No skydrive icon in notification area.
Can Microsoft please issue simple way of resolving this.
To be frank, I moved to Skydrive after Live Mesh was withdrawn and Skydrive has never been anywhere near as reliable as the former.
This should be a set up and forget process.
Please direct to simple help
Thanks

Yes I bought a computer over the weekend.  Set a Microsoft account with the email AngelBabysMom.com.  When I go to sign in it tells me the password is wrong.  Then I received an email asking me to verify my email.  When I do I put in my password and it tells me wrong password.  Then when I go to reset my password it tells me the account doesn't exist.  But when I try to do my account again it tells me that the name is already taken.  So I am wanting to know how I can fix this so I can get on my computer.  My info is Anne-Marie Neel  *** Email address is removed for privacy ***  March 23 1959 Female Alternate email *** Email address is removed for privacy *** Phone number 904-614-0128 Security Question is Mother's Birthplace HawthorneFL  zip 32221 I have email several people they couldn't help me I lived chated they didn't help and I called and was put on hold for 2 hours then disconnected  So if I don't get any solution from here then I guess I have no choice but to consult my lawyer to try and get answers.

So today I set up another account using *** Email address is removed for privacy *** and the rest of the info is the same.  But when I go to get on the internet and stuff it is asking me for my old name of *** Email address is removed for privacy ***  So is there anyway you cangive me a password or is there a way I can change *** Email address is removed for privacy *** to *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

Sincerely Anne-Marie Neel

Hello
I'd like to close my Outlook account but I'm having problems.
In order to close it, Outlook keeps giving me this message:

"You need to deactivate your Hotmail account. Once you've done that, your Microsoft account will be closed automatically after a period of inactivity."

But I can't find a way to deactivate it throught MSN website.
Please help me.

Thank you

Outlook (Office 365) integration with Microsoft account and Google account – calendar and contacts

29. October 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: Google calendar, Microsoft account

HI there

Just bought a new laptop. Was excited about the prospect of a truly integrated service with Outlook 365 - but having spent hours trying to make things work I now feel pretty deflated.

My email is hosted by google (personal domain name) and I have it working on my win 8 phone and two PCs. Email syncing works fine and so do calendar and contacts. Was hoping that with Outlook 365 that I could put it all together seamlessly - but it ain't happening.

Can I add my google calendar, which is currently used by Microsoft account, in outlook? It appears not.

Can I migrate my Microsoft account contacts into Outlook 365 - it appears not.

I have trawled the web and spent many hours trying to address these issues - but it looks like the above are not possible. Seems a little odd not to be able to link up things which work in my Microsoft account into Outlook.

Apologies for my somewhat despondent tone. Was genuinely excited about Office 365, which looks great on the screen by the way, but so far I have just wasted a great deal of time trying to get set up.

Look forward to some sage advice.

Cheers.

Hi,

I have a Microsoft account with an email @gmail and I have another Microsoft account @outlook.com (has an alias @live.com) and another account @hotmail.com.  I would like to merge the three accounts. Can someone assist me with this? I tried to do this via the alias section but it said I couldn't.

Thanks.

I’m not receiving my Instagram password reset to my email (live.com)

So I created live.com  like 2 years ago and now that msn totally changed I tried to log back to my account and I couldn't , i had to create a Microsoft account and I put the same old email address which is this one. And 2 days ago I wanted to reset my Instagram password and Instagram sent me an email to my old email account(this one) and when I check my outlock I don't see any incoming email from Instagram. And now I can't get on it cause I asked to reset my password and I'm not getting the message on this new Microsoft. What do I do now ? Like what happened to all the emails I had from a year or 2 years ago ? They disappeared ? And what happen if someone tries to send me an email? Where does it go ? I'm really confused, stressed and frustrated cause I wasn't expecting this. I don't like this new update cause instead of putting it more easy we gotta break our heads in order of how to use it or understand it .. All I want to know is that if I could get that Instagram email on this Microsoft outlock ? Ill appreciate if you reply to me as soon as possible. Thank you.
