Have received some odd emails

Hi

I have received two odd emails from *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

The first one goes

Microsoft account
Security info confirmation
It looks like you added some security info to your Microsoft account (xxxxx@hotmail.com): (Not my account)
Alternate email address:xxxxxx@gmail.com (Also not my account)
You can use this info to reset your password if you forget it.

The second email goes

The account security information for your Microsoft account (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***) (Not my email) is scheduled to be removed.
- *** Email address is removed for privacy *** (this is my account

If you didn't make this request then someone else may have your password. We'd like to help you get your account back. Please go to the following website to change your password and restore your account security information:

I received this email yesterday and want to know if it is a scam. The name part of the email address is mine but the "co.uk" is wrong. My email ends with "@hotmail.com"

Microsoft account
Security info confirmation
It looks like you've added some security info to your Microsoft account (-----@hotmail.co.uk):
Phone number: <PII removed>
You can use this info to reset your password if you forget it.
Confirm <PII removed>
If you didn't make this request, click here to cancel.
Thanks,

Windows Live Security Dilemma

29. September 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: livemail · Tags: Microsoft account Security info, Microsoft Team, security code, security code messages, Windows Live Security Dilemma
I've been receiving messages from the microsoft team (subject: Microsoft Account Security info confirmation) about someone with another email getting a security code and it's happened quite often with the same email. I change my passwords but still continues and just today another message saying they've changed the phone number details. I go to update my security settings and aparently I can't access my security settings with my email and password but that of the one featured in the security code messages from the micosoft team.

This is a dilemma! Anyone out there that can help me with some advice or processes to get my account security back into my own control. I have no idea whether it's a technical error or if someone really is trying to hack and steal my account.

Account seems to be hacked – can’t change/reset password

19. August 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: email account, microsoft, Microsoft account, Microsoft account Security info
I think my account has been hacked, and I can't change or reset my password. There had been some unusual activity on my email account already, so I had reset my password, but then I got this e-mail this morning:

Microsoft account
Security info confirmation
It looks like you added some security info to your Microsoft account (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***):
Alternate email address: *** Email address is removed for privacy ***
You can use this info to reset your password if you forget it.
Confirm *** Email address is removed for privacy ***
If you didn't make this request, click here [a link given] to cancel.
Thanks,
The Microsoft account team

I don't know either of the people whose e-mail addresses are given, and it looked like a legit e-mail from Microsoft (with the shield and everything), so I did "click here" to cancel. (Even though I probably shouldn't have, and I never click on e-mails....) And now I can't change my password. Or reset. Every time I go to the page.

Please help.
I have had this e-mail account for years, and I do pay for my subscription.

Thanks very much.
