Hello. I have been experiencing this problem for a while now with the new Outlook.

Many times I have been sent an email from family or friends and I don't receive it. they may send the email a few times before it shows up in my inbox and sometimes it will show up multiple times after a few tries.

I have also had this problem when requesting activation emails when registering for accounts on sites too. usually I do not receive the email in my inbox and I have to contact the site customer support. On occasion I have requested the email to be sent more than once and again, after a few requests it may finally show up in my inbox, but multiple times.

I understand that emails may take a little while to show up but sometimes wait over an hour and the email still does not arrive. I am currently waiting for an email since yesterday and i know it will not arrrive yet I have no option to ask for another one! it is very frustrating.

Until Hotmail switched to outlook I never had problems with receiving emails and I would receive them instantly.

Please advise me on how I can fix this problem as my inbox settings are all correct. I have already read other support answers and have checked to see if this will fix my problem but it has not.
Help! the emails in my inbox have all of a sudden started to automatically delete. normally I have many emails in my inbox awaiting my action but now they have all been deleted automatically. this is the fifth time it has happened over the past two or three weeks and it is really impacting on my business. interestingly my subfolders are not affected.   I am at the stage now where I have no faith in my emails and sick of wasting time trying to fix it.  I have paid for an IT specialist to find out the problem and it was deemed that there is no trace of the missing emails (many 100's of them). Why does it keep happening? Where are the emails going? the mail account is our main one that is accessed many times a day and has been operating for 12 years -very successfully until recently. can anyone help please as a matter of urgency  thanks
A few days ago I noticed the all of my hotmail messages that were on my iPhone were gone. I didn't think anything of it until I checked my emails on my laptop and saw that all of my emails in my inbox were gone. I did not place my emails into any folders thinking they would be fine left in my inbox. However, now I am left with none of my emails that I had in my inbox. I had many emails left there that I need to access now and they are just gone. I need this problem fixed as soon as possible. This is unacceptable.
This morning when I opened my email everything was fine. An hour or so ago, when I checked again,  all of my messages (inbox, sent and deleted) had disappeared. Also, every message dating back to 9/11/2013 had come back as a new/unopened message. I no longer have any of the messages I had saved in my inbox. My laptop was not affected though, but I don't save any business emails on that, so I can't retrieve any of the important ones that were saved in my inbox. The same thing happened on my husband's acct. but he received 191 new/unopened messages dating back to 9/2011.

Where are our emails and how do I get them back!?!

Hello
Since the last 5 days, I'm unable to access my outlook. It gives me an error of "We're updating your inbox."
I've added an alias for my email last week and removed it shortly after.
Since then, I cannot access my inbox, and it keeps saying updating your inbox.
Help please, I really need to access my emails.
Under my work account i have multiple sub folders. If i try to move an email to one of the sub folders, it will pull up the search box asking what folder i want it to move to. I type in a sub folder and two options appear: my real work sub folder -> xxxx\inbox\(sub folder i wanted)  and  a second option appears under the "On My Computer" account -> On My Computer\INBOX (note: this is displayed in all caps)\(the sub folder i typed in). This second option is not real. There is no INBOX under the On My Computer account and definitely no sub folders.

This being said, it will not show anything when the inbox/send/draft/deleted items are separated by account. If the settings are changed in the general preferences to group all folders under each category then out of no where the (all caps) INBOX appears with the sub folders it says it has. This would be great if i could delete it or remove the account attached to it but it does not give the option to delete it and there is no account attached to it.

We moved to office 365 in June and it seems that this hidden mailbox is an exact copy of my work mailbox with all subfolders being the exact same and all emails inside are the same but the hidden INBOX does not have any mail after we transferred to office 365. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to remove this second INBOX from my account or at least hide it so it does not give it as a option when i try to move my emails?

I apologize if this does not seem clearly visualize my issue at hand.

To Whom it may concern,

I am trying to successfully connect my Mac Mail (MacOSX10.8.5) to Outlook.com's IMAP server.  I get folders successfully downloaded including Ads, Deleted, Junk and Sent, but never my Inbox.  The server settings are correct (that's why I can get those folders), but it seems that my Inbox may be too big to connect to?

I've researched various threads (below) without luck.

Connection Doctor shows a successful connection, but the Activity Window consistently gets stuck "Fetching new mail" at the Opening mailbox... message.

Thanks in advance for your help.
