When we send an email it shows up in duplicate in the INBOX verses one copy in sent mail

we are using outlook 2011 and moved mail providers to google and enabled IMAP.  When we send an email it shows up in duplicate in the IN BOX verses one copy in sent mail.  we have verified out settings.  any ideas?   thank you
