Original post was answered, then closed.  I too have the same issue - on now two iPhones.  My wife's phone has been doing it since the 5 was released (removing outlook email fixes it, but she can't live without it) while our other 2 phones worked fine.  However, my phone has started behaving the same way:  more than 10% drop per hour... much more!  Where just last month I would see a total battery loss of 20-25% for a full day's use (probably 16 hours unplugged) I'm now experiencing a complete drain to the point of shut off in 5 or 6 hours.  Again, like my wife's, if I remove the Outlook email, the problem disappears.

Setting it to sync via "pull" is not a solution... it's a workaround.  I held out for iOS7 to see if it cured the problem, but it has not.  Two phones, one on iOS7 the other on iOS 6.1.4 have the same problem - with the MSN mail.  Below is the original post that I found from MelHos from this past January.  The resolution was some confuguration changes to the account, and that seemed to resolve the issue.

Can I request the same be made to the following?

Thank you,

Push Hotmail on iPhone constantly checking, draining battery

Hello

I think this is a strange one. When I configure my hotmail account in my iPhone 5 (via Hotmail or Exchange), if it is set to Push, the battery drains very, very quickly (10%+ per hour). My husband has an identical phone and his hotmail works fine with push. In addition, when my husband configures his hotmail account on my phone with push, everything is ok too. So this is down to my individual hotmail account and only when using it in push mode. Fetch mode is ok. The apple store guy suggested that the phone appears to be constantly checking for mails instead of just periodically. They have also replaced the phone twice (before the troubleshooting was so precise), so it is not the phone.

Wondering if anyone has any thoughts? I do not know how this all works, but is there some kind of flag that is stuck in an on position for my account telling my phone that there is some mail to check for?? No idea.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Mel

I am using Microsoft Outlook 2007 as my Client e-mail software and Hotmail as my e-mail provider.  My problem is that I frequently get calendar messages as e-mail.  Of course, they go to the 'junk' folder.  But, I have to review these, as I sometimes get a valid message in the 'junk' folder.  I have the 'preview' pane turned on, so I can get quick views of the content.

The problem is that the calendar entries get put on my Outlook calendar before I can remove them.  I tried filtering them out on Outlook, but this doesn't work with messages coming from Hotmail.  I logged onto Hotmail directly and I don't see any filter option to remove calendar entries or direct them to be deleted.

Any advice?

Thanks!

please help

Hi hotmail,

I don't seem to be receiving any emails from people at a certain domain adress, this is anyone at *** Email address is removed for privacy ***.

This has been happening for the past 2 weeks, and I never had a n issue before, so I'm not sure if it's hotmail or vfc, but they should be important emails. Sometimes they come through a few days afterwards at 4 in the morning, when I no longer need the email. I have checked the blocked sender lists and addded the domain to the safe sender list, but I am still not receiving the emails once the person has sent them. Please can you advise on what I can do?

I have upgraded to an iPhone 5 recently. My iPhone 4 maintained sync between my .msn(Hotmail) folders without a problem. My iPhone 5 only syncs the inbox. All other Mail folders report "no Mail".  My Hotmail account via the web(now an outlook account) and Windows 8 Mail app on my surface pro sync ok and all folders are maintained there. My iPhone is running OS 7 and I have deleted and restarted the email account on the phone using the Mail app and selecting "Hotmail" for the setup. Based on the running dialogue here there may be something to be done at the server end. Help!

Hello there,

Is there any place where I can get a copy of the Data protection Act for Microsoft/Hotmail (Not Services agreement) ?

I can't recover my son hotmail.com account. He has no alternative email, no telephonenumber, and so on. The alternative emailadress does no longer work. He never bought anything with creditcard, nor did he send emails. How do I get my sons account unblocked again?
