Hotmail account won’t work on Android email (stock app)

I have been using the stock email app on my phone (Samsung Galaxy Nexus with Android 4.2.2) to access one of my Hotmail accounts for almost a year now and I never had any problems. Suddenly about two or three weeks ago it stopped working, meaning that I could not send or receive e-mails. My old e-mails were still viewable, but it was useless to me when I could not reply, create a new e-mail, or receive any new e-mails.

My gmail account, which I set up on the same stock email app continues to work flawlessly, so it seems like the problem is not with the app. I tried downloading the "Outlook.com" app and I was able to successfully connect to my e-mail account with that; but I really don't like the format of that app. I went back to my "stock" email app and removed the Hotmail account and tried to add it back again, but it gets stuck at the last part where it says "Waiting for Sync: Your email will appear soon" and the spinning icon just spins endlessly with no e-mails ever showing up.

I know I am putting in my correct username and password because I can log in to my Hotmail account using the web browser.

My strong suspicion is that you guys (Microsoft) changed something on your end that broke it. Can you fix it?

I receives an email supposed to be from Hotmail team It says I have a virus in my folders and that I have to submit my full name, user name, password, and country. Is this real or just a scam to get into your computer. It says I have 2 weeks to answer the email or lose my Hotmail account forever. I would really like to know since I am suspicious of anything I get like that Thanks in antisapation of an answer.

All emails are going to Junk folder after my Hotmail account got hacked, even after I’ve made my contacts safe senders.

Hi,

My Hotmail account was hacked a few days ago. I've reset my password since, but now all emails from my known contacts are going to the Junk folder (which wasn't the case before my account got hacked). I've checked my list of safe senders, and my contacts are in it, but emails from them are still going to Junk. What might be the problem?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Need help linking my hotmail account and outlook accounts so I can switch between the 2 easier. I created a new outlook account for laptop but want to switch between the 2. I have documents saved on SkyDrive on my Hotmail account. Please help link or help me delete Outlook. Hotmail I have had for years and too much involved to delete it. Also my Hotmail account and Live.com are all connected.

I moved and switched passwords several times. My hotmail account was linked to my sbcglobal account so I do not understand why you won't send me a way to change my password. I am sure it is completely bogged down with tons of old emails and junk mail. I want to clean most of that out and begin using it again....but you will not give me access. How do I get around this????? I tried to reach out to Microsoft in the past and got the question "What is your favorite book". As a non-book reader, I cannot imagine what I would have used as an answer and certainly, I would have chosen another question to answer for security reasons, if that were possible. Can you not send me something through my sbcglobal account to access my hotmail account? Thank you!

I have a hotmail password reset code but can’t find where to enter it

My hotmail account has been blocked for weeks and at last I have been sent a password reset code (not that I expect it to work based on the help I have been given by Microsoft Support to date!). I really have no idea where to enter this code. Can anyone help me please? I am totally frustrated with trying to get into MY OWN hotmail account and being told I have provided insufficient information to prove that it is mine. If It wasn't mine why would I spend weeks trying to get into it? This really is my last attempt to get into the account. If no-one can help I will close it down but I'm sure I won't be able to close it because I'll need to enter the hotmail address and password which doesn't work! I will also be closing the outlook account I created to be able to post my question on this forum and will be going with gmail. Thank you to everyone who has tried to help.

Simultaneous Microsoft Email Accounts Logged In On One Computer

First question: Why is this such a difficult problem to find a simple solution for, or even a discussion about? Is 30 minutes of googling and searching on Microsoft support not enough?

For future searchers hopefully this will be easily found...

The issue (which I assume is very common): Is there any way to be logged in to one account at say @Outlook.com and log in to a different microsoft account like say @hotmail.com simultaneously on the same computer?

I ran into this problem when I tried out Google's Gmail and they had a work around for just this very issue. Surely Microsoft has figured this one out and is willing to assume the grave risk of allowing such usage for the sake of increased productivity worldwide. After dealing with Gmail's mess of an email system I have resorted back to using good ol' Microsoft for this particular account. I have been a long time hotmail account daily user as my primary personal email for probably 12+ years now and I enjoy it's organization. But when I went to the trouble of building a new outlook.com account for my other business I went to send a test email from my hotmail account and it automatically logged me out, even though it was on a different browser window. Then the obligatory google search for a discussion and fix on the matter ensued, and now 45 minutes later I'm going through the trouble of registering with the "community" and writing this post in hopes that I'll find the easy solution.

Please excuse the cynicism and sarcasm.
