Starting two days ago, Windows Live Mail will not download my gmail.  From Sync, "Check for new messages" is completed, but "Download new messages" is executing and is hung up on "Downloading message 0".  The error ID is 0x800C006F

  1. I have used Live Mail (currently 2012) as a mailer for several years with a few Contact Categories set up by myself and working well.  This week I changed (for spam reasons) my default account from AOL to Gmail changing from POP3 to IMAP4.  Within 48 hours a number of new categories were added to my Contacts list.  They were accurately filled (e.g. Family, Legal etc.).  The Contacts have not been synchronized with Gmail.
  2. I discovered that Remote Desktop had been enabled at some time unknown to me. Perhaps I missed it when updating to Windows 7 from Vista.
  3. I do not have JAWS nor any other intelligent text scanner (other than OCR) installed.
  4. I have full-scanned and Power-Erased the root under Norton repeatedly over the last twenty days.
  5. I like the result but I do not know how it was achieved.  If OK I like it.  If not, scarey!

An IT friend suggested that I may have been hacked and a new app installed for testing.  I cannot find it.

I recently used windows mail to download my Gmail messages. The result was all Inbox messages were shifted into All Mail folder at Gmail website and in Windows mail also all the messages are in All Mail Folder.

I had 3500 Inbox messages not one of them was spam now I am at a loss to organize thiese messages as All Mail Folder has now something like 5000 messages all jumbled. Every time now I download the messages from Gmail it happens again the inbox item get shifted to All Mail Folder.

Where is the glitch?
I recently purchased a Windows tablet.  Since configuring to receive emails through Windows Live I can no longer access my Yahoo emails on my laptop or phone.  I can still pick up ntl and Gmail without problems on the other devices.  I have reset my Windows password which I understand should be the same for Windows Live Mail as well as Windows. Registration.  My laptop claims that I am using the wrong password despite the fact that I can send and receive from ntl and Gmail. I am getting a Ox800CCCOE, detailing protocol POP3, Port 995, SSL yes, Socket error 10060 as the error message when I log on.

Anyone have any solutions?
I have seen this question posted recently, but none of the suggestions are working.  I have Gmail and recently the sent items disappeared in outlook.  I went in and changed the IMAP setting to keep copies on the server and when I did that, all sent emails showed up under the [Gmail] directory with me (Sender) in the header for every email.  I removed the account from outlook and set it up again.  When the account starts up, the sent items folder is initially populated then everything disappears in about 30 seconds.  Additionally, and I am not sure if it is related, there is a folder under [Gmail] that is labeled with only an apostrophe and has the email folders that I created inside.  I cannot option-click on a folder and clear the cache so that is confusing as well.  It is annoying to have to access my account via webmail in order to look up a sent item.  Please help!

After two years of using Live Mail, last week I keep getting the below error. I have seven gmail accounts, all set up the same, but only my main account seems to blow up. I have searched high and low for solutions and none have worked. I do not consider POP3 as an acceptable alternative.  I have tried changing the ports, deleting/recreating the account etc. In internet searches I find nothing solid, just a lot of the the same problems. Amazingly, I searched Microsoft's Supported Products list and Live Mail was not on it. WFT. Will be changing back to Thunderbird or something equivalent.

Unable to send or receive messages for the Gmail (davxxxx) account. Header download for the 'Inbox' folder did not complete. The operation was canceled by the user.

Server Response: Your IMAP command could not be sent to the server, due to non-network errors. This could, for example, indicate a lack of memory on your system.
Server: 'imap.gmail.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0F
Protocol: IMAP
Port: 993
Secure(SSL): Yes

i'm using Windows 7, wlm Version 2011 (Build 15.4.3508.1109) and gmail set up for POP 3 account. All of the email to my wlm account downloads but some of my wife's messages do not download. They are in the google cloud since she can view them on her phone but they are not downloading to my desktop. Some days it works well and others not. I have restarted the program and the computer but it's not helping. We've been using wlm for years with mostly no problems but she has had this happen several times. I don't want to use IMAP.
Any ideas??

I tried creating a csv from gmail. Imported it.  My desktop version of outlook says I have all contacts BUT half of them are blank - no name, no information... nothing.

My online version of outlook (which is the one I'm hoping to use) doesn't show any of these contacts.

Thoughts?
