There is a java-based program called GeoSetter that lets me mark EXACTLY where on a map a picture was taken, as well as the direction of the picture, along with the elevation, and country info (country, state, city, neighborhood, ZIP) and saves it to the picture and lets me view them on a map.  In Windows Live Photo Gallery I can set a city/state, but that is not what I am looking to do.

How do I add a precise location to my older pictures like GeoSetter so that I can view them on a map in Bing?

So, probably 2 feature suggestions/requests: add precise geotags to pictures without geotag information, and the ability to view my pictures on Bing Maps, either all at once, or on a timeline.

If I may say so the design of geotag is silly. I should be able to enter the name of a place that MS (or even google) has never heard of. Two examples.
  • I live in Chelsea in London (a very well known district and presumably where Pres Clinton's daughter's name comes from).  I see from my geotag lists that MS corrected it to Chelsea in Maine.  I have been in Maine many times and have never heard of the place.  Is there a bias towards US places. by any chance?
  • Concerning a very different place, I recently visited Anzac Cove which was where the Aussies and the NZers went ashore at Gallipoli in c1915 (WWI) and were slaughtered in their thousands.  geotag had never heard of it.  Why cant I just type Anzac Cove and have WLPG accept it instead of these bossy messages from MS.

On the same trip I went to Istanbul and it insisted that the geotag should be Istanbul, Istanbul, Turkey.

Come on MS get international!

My request in the short term is that I should be able to enter any set of alpha numeric characters and not have MS tell me if they approve
