I try to migrate my emails (about 2 GB when exported to a .pst file) from an Exchange server based email account to Outlook.com.
On my machine I have created an Outlook 2010 profile which contains both accounts (Exchange native + Outlook.com via hotmail connector).
Then I have copied in Outlook 2010 some large email folder structures from the Exchange account folder hierarchy to the Outlook.com account folder hierarchy.
As a result the Oulook.com account in Outlook 2010 is stalled since already two days (!!!): Task manager shows a CPU utilization for outlook.exe of about 25% on my 4 processor machine but there is no progress syncing the data with the Outlook.com server: None of the folders locally copied this way in my Outlook 2010 shows up in the Outlook.com web interface.
What's going wrong here?
What would be the right way to migrate a larger folder hierarchy from an Exchange server account to an Outlook.com account?
