Original title: I'm receiving the 5102 error on Outlook, there's nothing in my outbox or drafts folder.

found my drafts folder empty. how can i retrieve all docs ?

Last night, I lost the ability to create new e-mails, edit existing drafts, and forward e-mails in one of my Hotmail accounts.

The problem started while I was typing a message - I clicked on "Save Draft" and the text suddenly disappeared.  I went into the drafts folder and found the email I had been working on was there. I opened the file, but when I clicked the button to continue editing it, nothing happened.  When I clicked on "New" to create another e-mail, nothing happened there either.

Here are some other notes:

  • Even though I can't generate emails, I am able to receive and open them.
  • I am not having any problems with my secondary Hotmail account; it is just with my primary one. My husband and daughter have no issues logging into their Hotmail accounts.
  • The issue is only on my PC; there are no problems creating, editing, or forwarding when I access the account on my Android tablet.
  • The problem exists whether I log in via Firefox and Internet Explorer.
  • I cleared Firefox & Explorer histories. I did a disk clean-up. I deleted all Internet logs.
  • There were no updates installed on my computer for several weeks prior to the problem arising.
  • I did install the dozens of updates that showed up last night (about 3 hours after the problems started), then shut the computer down completely. I was hoping that one of those updates would magically fix the problem. Unfortunately, when I turned the computer back on this morning, the problem(s) still exist.

Does anyone have any ideas what happened to this particular email account and how to fix the problem?

I keep getting this message and can not send emails at all: Please verify your account to continue. Your email wasn't sent because there's a daily message limit—we saved it in your Drafts folder. I tried providing my cel number but I am not receiving the verification code to my phone, SMS is not supported in the country I am right now. My account is an old account, I've had for many years. Please microsoft support verify my account asap and reestablish access. Please email me if you need further information. Thank you

I resolved the issue of the greyed out email button, but now I have 700 messages sitting in my Drafts folder. How do I get these to send without opening and sending each individual message?

Thank you!
Robert

I just did a merge to email and now I have 700 emails sitting in my Drafts folder! What was the rule you set up to move this to your Outbox?

Thanks for your help!
Robert

A message in my drafts folder went missing this morning.  I believe what happened is that my laptop restarted (i.e. crashed) while the draft message was open for edit, though I was away from my laptop when this happened.  When I logged back into Outlook.com the message was not in my drafts folder, not in my deleted folder, and was not recovered into my deleted folder using the "recover deleted messages" link in the deleted folder.  In short the message seems to have vanished?  The message had been in my drafts folder for a while and I had made a number of incremental edits to this file fairly recently.  The file was there this morning (Aug 7, 2013).   Is there any way to restore this file to my drafts folder from a server backup?
Instead of emptying Deleted folder I emptied my Drafts folder - is there a way of getting the Draft messages back?
Whenever I click the Send/Receive button, Outlook begins sending an large unknown file. It does not indicate a file name; there is no unsent file in the Drafts folder; there is no indication of where or what the file is. I cannot stop this from happening. Eventually, I get an error message that the file exceeds file size limit.

At the bottom right of the window, the progress bar shows Sending... , and after the progress bar it states 0/2.

The only way I can get it to stop sending is to click on Tools, then the Progress icon; then click the X after the progress bar there.

I suspect I have a virus, but I don't know.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Bob
