How to set up an e-mail address in outlook hosted by an external domain

14. November 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Uncategorized · Tags: domain account, Outlook, Outlook account
I have an outlook account with a hotmail address.  I have just set up a work related e-mail account on an external domain and have tried to get it to link to my outlook account by setting up an alias with the same address.  However I have not received the test e-mails I have sent.  I did note on one of the setting pages that the external domain account was send only and not receive, but there appeared to be no option for two e-mail addresses to be received on the one outlook account.  Have I misunderstood something??

Thanks

Jim

How do I connect to my personal skydrive on Windows 8.1 WITHOUT associating my personal live.com account with my work domain account?

02. November 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: domain account

When logged in on my work machine, for example as redmond\employee, I would occasionally like to access my personal skydrive files directly from the file system.  I would like to be able to do this without associating my work domain account with my personal live.com account (in fact my domain account is already associated with a live ID that I use for work).

This used to be possible in Skydrive for Windows 8 and it was extremely handy, but it does not seem possible in 8.1?

This domain name can’t be used because it contains a protected word or inappropriate language

I get this errormessage for my domains bunetrust.dk and bunetrust.com when I want to open an outlook.com domain account.

Bune Trust is my family name, is it fixable?

Reporting a bug:: When deleteing a managed domain account, its email accounts created on that domain remain dormant and unable to delete themselves

Hi

I was wondering if this is a bug.

I had a managed domain email n Live Domains and I have created some emails for that domain too.
Before I delete those email accounts, I deleted the managed domain account. Now no way to delete the those emails created for that domain by me (no access to that closed account anymore) and also their used cannot delete them as they are part of managed domain.

Cannot create a domain account due to an “inappropriate name”

Hello.

I would like to register an account on domains.live.com, but cannot. The domain name I am trying to register is epicpromo.ca. It's shorthand for Epic Promotions, and we sell promotional products to clients. It's not inappropriate in any way, but I was unable to find a way to contact support directly.

I hope this is the right place to ask! I can provide additional info if necessary.

Cheers!

Outlook 2011 missing public folders that Outlook 2010 shows (EWS issue?)

03. July 2012 · Write a comment · Categories: Outlook for Mac · Tags: bit, domain account, issue, Mac OSX Lion, machine, Public Folders, time, Windows

Two machines, one domain account:

1)  Windows 7 x64 SP1 PC , Outlook 2010 (14.0.6112.5000)  64-bit,

2)  Mac OSX Lion 10.7.4,  Outlook 2011 (14.2.2 - 120421)

On the O2010 machine, I can browse as many public folders as my account has permissions to.

Example:   All Public Folders -> Department A3 -> Facilities -> Calendars -> Test calendar

On the O2011 machine I can browse one or two levels from the root, but not to the full depth.

Example:   All Public Folders -> Department A3

The folders do not appear to "fill in" over time (at least, not overnight).

The PC is domain joined.  The Mac is not.

The Exchange environment is a mix of E2003, E2007, and E2010.  All of the Public Folders have at least one E2010 replica.  Access is consistent on both machines.  (i.e. I get stuck in the same place every time on the Mac)

Other EWS clients (e.g. Thunderbird 13.0.1 on both Mac and PC) have the same issue and get stuck at the same places in the PF tree.

Any idea where to look?

Thanks,

Red
