I haven’t used my hotmail account in a few months and now all of my folders (inbox, etc) and contacts are gone! Help!!! How can I recover these?

Where are my messages? What can I do to recover the contents of my inbox??? I NEED to recover the messages...I just lost four years of creative writing and all of my correspondance with my best friend. Please help!
