Windows Live Mail 2012 does not allow me to send to a category of contacts.  When I right click on a category name  e.g., "Friends in Chicago", the drop-down shows: edit contacts, delete contacts, create new category in bold but "send email" is NOT BOLD.   What to do?
Hi there,

I am using Outlook 14.4.2 with Exchange. For a long time I am trying to delete an old category name called My Contacts. This category seems to be from old Pre-iSync workflow. When I remove the category from the preference settings it comes back a couple of seconds later. I've search for that category term within outlook however I am unable to find it. It's no longer attached to any vCard contacts.

What else can do to get rid of the old category name?

Thanks for your help.

I have several addressee groups. When I compile a group in a Category, i. e., Computer Club, and input the addresses of our 35 members, I see the category and see the member names in the box below the listing of all my contacts just fine.

After I send a message to that addressee group by placing the Category name on the Bcc: line (I use my address in the To: line), the message  goes out to those individuals. However, the next day when I open WLM and prepare to send an email to that same group, I place the name of that category in the Bcc: box and click on the plus sign only to find that the email addresses have disappeared.

I found that out the hard way when I received complaints that none of the club members were receiving the meeting notifications. When I go to that category to edit the names, I find that it is empty.

How do I fix this problem?

I have several Contact Categories containing groups of people I like to send
messages to.  I used to be able to highlight that Category and click in the
BCC
area and they entered as +that category name. For some reason that's not
working anymore.  I can click on the
BCC
which opens my contact list and
highlight a category and it places it in the
BCC
area when I choose that.
It shows like "+madeupname".     After sending the message to myself and to
the group as
BCC
I check the Sent folder and check the message to insure
those contacts show in the
BCC
area.  Nothing is there.  So I tried putting
nothing in the To: area and only the Category name in the
BCC
box.  It said
it can't send a message because nothing is listed in To:..CC:....or Bcc.

My email sends and receives OK with individual email addresses. My problem is that category does not work. If I copy and past contacts into a NEW category, it will work, but when I get out of mail and back in again later the same new category will not work to send mail to all the addresses contained.
