Started receiving outlook.com email with no photos or pictures only boxes with a circle in upper left portion of the box space.

I am receiving email with blank boxes with an circle, small camera image in upper left corner. this is received from multiple senders usually in personal email. 

Attachments sent to me show empty boxes with star in the corner – Why?

I am unable to open any attachments sent to me. All I get is blank boxes with a star in the corner.

I am on IE 10 and use WIN 7.

 

I also have another issue, where mail disappears from my Inbox!

This is a worry as I have not deleted them.
