I have a (ASUS R704-A Notepad) and Windows Live Mail 2012 hangs/freezes on my ASUS R704-A Notepad.(I have a Compaq Presario CQ5302F)

WLM works ok on my desktop, but not on my Notepad it just hangs/freezes. Don't figure? I tried every thing on the web, and a few other things

too. If any buddy has any ides I sure would like to hear from you.

I have recently started using Microsoft 2-step verification for all my devices (Win 8.1 Toshiba PC, Asus PC, Android phone, and tablet). Everything went smoothly with the exception of Asus PC. The problem is WLM does not allow me to sign in. I also have Outlook mail app on Asus and it worked well. (I use both WLM and Outlook for my hotmail account as well as the gmail account.) I have tried resetting my password several times.  tried the repair option, and I even deleted live mail and reinstalled it. I have even entered authentication codes to indicate that I used that PC frequently. The end result was WLM accepted neither the hotmail password nor the gmail password. The only difference between my Asus PC and Toshiba PC is that I use a local account to sign in Asus and a Microsoft account to sign in Toshiba. I have also tried the trusted PC option but I just could not execute Microsoft's instructions because, unlike Google's instructions for trusted PC, they were poorly written and I was not able to complete the process. (I prefer to use WLM because, compared to Outlook, it requires less mental energy.)

Any suggestions for further action will be highly appreciated.

I have a new ASUS tablet....as my first attempt at Windows 8.

I setup my windows account using my earthlink  email account....

Because this is POP email...I could not access it through the mail program on the front end.

I needed to add this account to my outlook.com account...but it still would not work as I needed a outlook.com email address.

I created a new alias with an outlook.com extension...and made it primary....and everything worked fine.

The windows 8 email program pulled my email over fine...from even the aliased account with POP.

But then when in outlook.com looking at accounts...I accidently took the outlook.com extension email address off of the primary alias and back to the old one.

It no longer works...and when I try and switch it back...it tells me I cant do this very often as MS limits this....

Why? And how can I go back????

Hi!

I have gotten a new Asus pc and I have installed windows live mail. On my old pc there was no trouble sync wlm. When I hit F5 it took 2-3 sec to sync with two hotmail acunts. Now on the new computer it can take as long as 5 to 10 minuts even if its not any new mails. Both computer are connected to the same cable so the connection shouldnt be the problem. I have tryd to turn off antivirus and firewalls.  What can be the problem? Anyone?

I am attempting to import Windows Live Mail messages into a new computer, but it refuses to do it! The details are as follows..............

The source is the hard disk from a crashed Acer laptop. The machine is irreparable, and WinXP will not boot in any mode. So I coupled the hard disk to a borrowed laptop running Win 7 Ultimate, and used Ubuntu to find my data on the hard disk from the crashed Acer. I found and copied my data, and using a memory stick transferred them to the destination - my new Asus laptop running Win 7 Home Premium. This was successful, and I can read documents, spreadsheets, etc, using Libre Office. Wonderfull!

I used the same Ubuntu software to locate my email files, and copied them to the memory stick. Looking at the properties on the borrowed Win 7 Ultimate laptop, all seems to be in order - I can see folders, and the files have .eml extensions as expected.

But when I plug the memory stick into the new Asus, and try to import into WLM, it fails, saying either there are no files (there are!) or that they are in use by someone else ( no!) But as I look at the properties now on the memory stick connected to the new Asus, all the files have lost their .eml extensions, and now have new extensions like 00000001, 0000000A, 000000078, etc..... So I guess WLM says no files because they have all lost their .eml extensions.

It may be relevant that the old Acer was running XP Pro, 32 bit, the borrowed Win 7 Ultimate machine is 32 bit, and the new Asus Win 7 Home Prem is 64 bit. Incidentally, I have checked and the default file extension for WLM is .eml (but it is greyed out.)

I really need these old emails, so I will be extremely gratefull if anybody can help me to fix this issue and get the emails transferred.

I have an Asus Eeepad TF101 tablet and am having trouble setting up Hotmail in the email program as it keeps telling me that it Cannot Connect to Server, edit details

Please could someone help me resolve this problem as I am sure my details are correct.
