My problem is syncing issues with Outlook 2013 in Office 365 suite between devices and outlook.com.  In addition there are connection issues taking place on my devices.

All devices are set with outlook.com as the default setting.

DEVICES

Desktop:  HP Envy 64 bit AMD 6200 six-core processor with 10 gb of ram.  It is running Windows 8

Tablet: Samsung Ativ 7 Pro intel core i5 with 4 gb of ram 64 bit operating system.  It is running Windows 8

Phone:  Nokia 928 windows phone

SYNC ISSUES: Calendar and Tasks

There have been multiple issues but I will start with the most recent

Tasks have never synced properly between any device.  What is on my desktop is not what is on outlook.com.  What is on my tablet is not on outlook.com. Phone is different.  If I create the task on outlook.com it will come through.  The bottom line is it is hit and miss whether calendar and tasks show up on any one of the devices.

Desktop

I synced my desktop to outlook.com on Saturday.  Some of the dates from desktop showed up on the outlook calendar and some did not. Have tried syncing several times but they will not show up on the calendar.   So it is hit and miss what events get synced. Yesterday none of them were syncing between any device.  The phone after 24 plus hours showed up some of my dates.

The order of tasks on desktop doesn’t match outlook.com or other devices.  Even though the due is changed to current date or future date it still shows up as overdue on outlook.com.  The dates of tasks do not correspond.

The syncing process can take 2-5 minutes to complete when only one item has changed.

Tablet

Tasks or calendar created on my tablet will not show up on outlook.com, desktop or phone.

Items created on desktop, phone or outlook.com will show up on tablet, however.  The tablet is downloading but not uploading.

The sync process can take several minutes to complete even though only one item is changed or added.

Phone

Tasks continue to show overdue on the phone when they have been updated on the desktop and outlook.com.

Tasks marked as complete on other devices are never removed from the phone task list.  I have old tasks still on the phone after weeks of syncing.

EMAIL

Email seems to be working alright.  Emails are showing up on all three devices.

The only issue I have is emails deleted on any device aren't delete off the other devices.  That means I have to manually delete emails in each of 3 different email accounts on each of 3 devices.  That is a real hassle and time burner.

DISCONNECT ISSUE

TABLET

It started with my tablet weeks ago.  It stopped syncing at all.  I went to accounts and kept getting this message “Outlook cannot discover settings for your account because a network connection could not be established.  You may need to turn off work offline to automatically configure this account.”   It is not set to work offline.  That was the message I was getting when we talked Tuesday.  Now in the right corner where it tells you if you are working online or offline, it says disconnected.

Following solutions have been tried on tablet.

  1. File~account settings ~ tried repair.  That is when I got “Outlook cannot discover settings for your account because a network connection could not be established.  You may need to turn off work offline to automatically configure this account.”
  2. Deleted outlook.com account in file~account settings and then added it back.  Worked for a short while but then said "disonnected" in lower right hand corner.
  3. Microsoft tech tried a complete removal of outlook.com account, clearing out cache, etc. and recreated.  Word short while then went back.
  4. Clicked offline button several times as suggested by one article.  Shows connected then goes back to disconnected.

It is connected to the internet because tablet still receives email messages.

DESKTOP

That was Wednesday (9/18) and Thursday (9/19).  Friday (9/20) my desktop started saying it was disconnected.

  1. Clicked offline button several times as suggested by one article.  Shows connected then goes back to disconnected.
  2. Went to File~account settings ~ tried repair.  That is when I got “Outlook cannot discover settings for your account because a network connection could not be established.  You may need to turn off work offline to automatically configure this account.”

Saturday (9/21), the connection issue is not an issue on desktop or tablet.  This is the first time the tablet has connection in 7-10 days.
