I stopped receiving and sending emails on windows live mail 12. My latest error ID is: Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0D, see below. I have sbcglobal.net account as default and Gmail.com account added. The first account have error as described , the gmail download messages but they “cannot be displayed”.

I tried to call email provider ATT and only got help assigning secure mail key.  I was told it is microsoft error.

Changes I made : In WLM under “properties” I change under “server” to “log on using secure password authentication”(second option)  I had error:

“Unable to send or receive messages for the Sbcglobal account. Windows Live Mail couldn't log on to the email server using secure password authentication. Contact your email provider and verify that it supports secure password authentication. To change this logon setting, in the folder list, right-click on the account name, and then click Properties on the shortcut menu. In the Properties dialog, click the Servers tab, and then under Incoming Mail Server, select a logon option.

Server Response: .

Server: 'inbound.att.net'

Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC18

Protocol: POP3

Port: 995

Secure(SSL): Yes”

After changing servers name, as ATT web link recommends( Inbound.net.att.net and smtp.mail.att.net), also port 995 to 993 new error pooped up:

“Unable to send or receive messages for the Sbcglobal account. The host 'inbound.mail.att.net' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly.

Server: 'inbound.mail.att.net'

Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0D

Protocol: POP3

Port: 993

Secure(SSL): Yes

Socket Error: 11001”

If Sbc global account is too difficult to fix I would like to fix at least Gmail account to use it with WLM. I wonder why messages come but look corrupted.

Plese help. Luba Armour
