Hi,
I am trying to install Windows Live Essentials 2012 on Windows Server 2016. I've made sure that .NET framework 3.5 is installed. Whenever I run the installer, the progress bar moves all the way to 100%, but then comes up with the error in the attatched picture.
Any help as to what is causing this, and how can it be fixed is greatly appreciated.

i have been using movie maker for a few years now, but recently it has been crashing more and more frequently whenever I try to save my final movie. It hardly even gets to 10% before crashing. I spent over 2 days making my most recent 30 minute video and now it is providing utterly impossible. i seem to have plenty of memory and all the source files are where they are supposed to be. I am at my wit's end. I've looked at compatibility too. Can you suggest a solution??

I am trying to capture analogue DV video tape footage from a Canon MVX250i camcorder using Movie Maker on Windows 10 Pro.
I installed a TanQY 1394 PCI Firewire Card to the motherboard yesterday; connected it to the camera using a firewire cable; opened Movie Maker and selected import from device; I could see the camera icon in the import photos and video window, I highlighted it and managed to successfully import several minutes of video to my PC in avi format. So far, so good!
I tried to import more video this morning following the same process but there's no sign of the camera icon in the import window. I've tried the refresh option and shutting down/restarting the PC and the camera several times but I still get the same result.
I don't understand why it worked yesterday and not today.
Does anyone have any ideas?
this has happened three times alone this morning, 2/10/19. i'll delete 300+ emails, some almost two weeks old, then 5-10 minutes later they reappear. again, this has happened three times this morning alone. it has happened periodically, maybe once or twice a month, over the past year or so, and was nothing more than an annoyance, but three times in a matter of an hour? am i missing something? yes, i've already tried to search online to solve the problem. i have att as my provider. i am running the latest version of windows, whatever that may be at this point. i have only one account associated with my email. yes, i do know that WLM 2012 is antiquated, but i cannot get outlook to work for some reason on my machine. i will be changing internet providers in a few weeks and i hope that solves the problem, from att to spectrum. anything else??? any help would be sincerely appreciated as this is getting very, very tiresome.

I've used Windows Live Mail 2012 for many years. for some time now with problems downloading messages from my email server Tiscali/TalkTalk. This is getting slowly worse, and it is rare I can send messages and see them immediately in my sent items, likewise downloading messages to my inbox
Some messages in sent items and inbox are downloaded some not.
Frequently the program freezes and tells me that my server refused to accept/various other reasons
I have no problems at all finding my email messages in the TALK TALK webmail account
Would be grateful for a fix if at all possible
