I upgraded both of my computers to the latest version of Windows 10 preparatory to moving my files and settings from the 'old' desktop to the 'newer' laptop. Windows Live Mail continues to work on the desktop but the new version of Windows 10 on the laptop came with Windows Mail which won't let me import my files and folders from Windows Live Mail. I have been searching for some way to retrieve my saved emails from my old computer and have them available on the 'newer' laptop. Any help would be appreciated as I have noticed quite a number of posters asking Live Mail related questions that have been locked out.

Hi,
When I normally copy and paste a https address in Windows Live mail 2012, it appears in blue, and the recipient can click on it and open the link. I have tried to send a link and the colour is in black and
white and a smaller font. I sent the email to myself to test it, and when you click on the link, nothing happens. I am running Windows 7
When trying to send photos via email I get an error message saying that the version of outlook is too old, is there a version of photo gallery (pre 2012) that will work with outlook 2010 in windows 10, if so please send me a link.
I find it very odd that the newer the version of software the less useful it is.
I currently have Windows Live Mail under Win 7 Ultimate. I would like to do two things, if possible:
(1) Back up, and be able to recover, either into Win 7 or Win 10 (whatever is the recommended e-mail client for Win 10), everything: folders; saved e-mails and all of their attachments (if any), in the folder(s) to which they have been saved; contacts (address book); all categories and the entries (contacts) therein.
(2) Migrate all of the above to another e-mail client, preferaby cloud-based and Web-based, such as Gmail.
I have looked at many dozens of articles and tried a few methods but all were unsatisfactory including the "Export" and "Import" that is supposed to be a function of Windoes Live Mail. I need a solution, as I have a lot of saved e-mails, some of which are business-related. Any help will be hugely appreciated! Thanks in advance. *** Email address is removed for privacy ***
