I have logged into hotmail.com now outlook.com and found that my recent emails and inbox has disappeared. They are not in my trash folder either. Help!

I have logged into my outlook.com site to find emails have disappeared.  I had an issue with icloud sync that i had to redo and then when fixed went back into outlook and all emails have gone.  not even in trash folder
