I am trying to send a XL file to my husband to print and Windows Live is telling me it is a prohibited file. How can I send it?

How can I send this file? I think this is ridiculous, shouldn't we be able to look out for ourselves? I mean seriously, I'm very cautious about opening unknown attachments.
