I had problems with outlook from the outset. Mails disappeared. Somehow got it back on track.Outlook started downloading mails from IMAP. Towards the end when almost done, it disappeared from DECK and also from the application folder in Office files. Kindly help

I've just bought a new MacBook Air

I'm going to buy for sure word, excel and powerpoint for Mac.

I'm considering how worthy is Outlook for Mac, because the price difference is quite important, so before buying it I'd like to be sure that:

1. for contacts: I'll be able to synch the existing contacts on my iPhone with Outlook contacts

2. for calendars: I'll be able to synch the existing calendars on my iPhone with Outlook calendars

2. for mail: I'll be able to configure my Hotmail account on outlook and it will be in synch with the hotmail account I've configured on my iPhone

my iPhone is still 3GS (so no iCloud) and I do not think I'm going to change it soon.

But I'd like to understand also what's happening in the future if I buy a new iPhone.

I read many different things on this community, not always aligned with the latest version of iTunes for example, ot talking about Apple desupporting Synch Services with OS X Mountain Lion,...

so I'd really appreciate a clarification about limitations of synch features in outlook mac

thanks a lot for your help

I have been unable to backup my MacBookPro using OS 10 because my backup software crashes everytime it comes across the Microsoft Outlook Database. Since I have lots of sensitive academic records on this computer and thus need to have a backup. I cannot copy the Database on my computer, nor can I copy it to an external drive. I do not want to delete it for fear of using valuable information. Is there anything I can do to deactivate the Database so that I can finally backup?

Hi all,

Many years ago I used to log into Outlook for Windows with multiple email accounts, and each could be used in isolation from the other.  As I logged into Outlook I would be prompted to select one of my account profiles, and once into Outlook all I would see would be the emails and contacts for that account.  Switching was an easy matter of logging out and logging in again, selecting a different profile.

Outlook for Mac does not seem to offer any such capabilities as all emails seem to be stored in the same location without the concept of the individual .pst file (or equivalent) to enable seperation.

I want to be able to use Outlook to manage emails for two distinct businesses, viewing them seperately and without any crossover between the two, or any risk of confusion as to who sent what to who.

Can anybody think of any creative way in which Outlook for Mac could be configured to enable this?

Or can the browser pane on the left be configured to show complete separation between the two accounts (i.e two sets of inbox, sent, contacts, etc)?

Thanks.

Dave.

I have an existing (inherited) Shared Calendar folder with several sub-folders that work well in MS-Outlook 2011. When I select my Shared Calendar folder, the New Calendar icon goes dark (inactive).  How can I create a new Shared Calendar folder?
The overlay for incoming emails highlighted is a dark purple which renders the attachment symbol virtually invisible. I cannot see it. Anything I can do? thanks.
When I open emails from approved senders I get the following message. "To protect your privacy, some Pictures in this message were not downloaded" How can I change this?

I only want this with individuals I know and companies I know.
How do I change the date on saved documents in Word and emails in Outlook over a day old as they are all dated as 14/08/11?  I'm not sure what happened on 14/08/11 however anything over 2 days old has the same date listed and it makes it more difficult to distinguish in folders.

Help gratefully received!  I have checked the date and time on the computer and that is accurate.  It's the Microsoft office 2011 for Mac that is showing the date incorrectly.
