just applied the most recent update to office 2016 but it broke outlook 2011 yet again!!!!!  Have to run 2011 since many of the companies I work for are still on exchange server 2007. As users, we have no control of this and makes office unusable.  Is there a fix?

Don't ask me how ,but iI seem to have multiple inboxes in my Personal Folders which, even though I delete some of them, keep replicating.

They name themselves as Inbox but with an asending number using 1, i.e

Inbox 1

Inbox11

Inbox 111

Inbox 1111

etc

etc

I use a TalkTalk e-mail account 

I have put my contacts in various categories in Outlook for Mac 2011 -- Manager, Staff, etc -- and have identified those different categories with a color marking that shows in the inbox.  This allows me to quickly gauge an e-mail and who its from.

 

The question is why does the category and color disappear if the person sending me an e-mail places an attachment to the e-mail?  The same person can send an e-mail without an attachment and the category, and color, will appear in the inbox -- once that contact attaches any type of document to the e-mail, their category doesn't show and the color defers to black text.

 

Help please...it's maddening!

Hi, when I click on the 'create message from task' option I get the following error: Microsoft outlook got an error: can't make class task.

Any ideas how to overcome this error? 

I'm running Outlook 2011 for Mac version 14.6.0(151221) with OS X Yosemite 10.10.5

My Outlook 2011 for Mac calendar data started disappearing for a day or longer then reappearing later for no apparent reason.  This also happened once with my Outlook 2011 for Mac task data but not at the same time as my when calendar data disappeared.  The Outlook version that I have is 14.6.0.  I have a Macbook Pro running Mavericks OS X Version 10.9.5.  Thanks in advance for your help.
I configured my gmail account in Outlook 2011 on MAC OS X. I cannot send and receive emails from my outlook 2011 and when i try to sending an email I get the following error "5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first". 

Not a new problem.  Same issue prior to update to ElCapitan 

Word just decides to quit - happens often and have lost hours and hours of work as a result.  Very frustrated.  Keep vowing to move to MAC Pages but dont have time for the learning curve

I am using outlook 2011 in my mac machine. My organization has configured message restrictions and it is available to all the windows users. In my mac machine, i am able to view restricted messages by connecting to the IRM server, but when i am composing new messages, i am not able to restrict the permissions on those messages. My permissions button is basically greyed out. My sysadmin team has confirmed that they have the configurations right in the server. 

The same happens with Word, PowerPoint and Excel. I am able to view the restricted documents but i am not able to create protected documents. 

Can you please let me know the steps which i should take to troubleshoot to find out the exact issue to fix this ?

el capitan impairs mac outlook 2011
I "upgraded" to Office 2016 for Mac, which turned out to be a disaster! Trying to return to using Office 2011. In Outlook 2011 now, the junk folder has been eliminated as a core folder. Mail continues to be moved to the absentee junk folder, but I have no way of checking those messages. Anyone have any idea how to restore the junk folder as a core folder? I have Time Machine backups, so if it is a plist feature, I can restore it.... but HELP!
