I am trying to transition my emails to Outlook for mac.  My gmail account and my go daddy account.  Neither of them will work.  Keeps saying my user name or password is wrong.  Have even gone back in and changed my passwords.  Still the same issue.

Have looked at tutorials and no help.  Anyone else with this issue?  It also says may be security settings, but they are set right also.

I'm an IT person and I've dealt with this issue before. OFM 2011 doesn't seem to have the same backup and recover stability as the Windows pst system.

The version number I'm using is 14.6.2

Here is what I've done to date to attempt to resolve the issue of duplicate emails:

I've checked for duplicate account, rebuilt the database, removed backup databases, removed items on the original server, unchecked "leave messages on server" as well as removing messages from the server when deleted from OFM 2011.

All duplicate messages have the same message id as the original. New downloads in the SMTP protocol should always have a new and different ID.

Backing up the *.olm file and attempting to restore the file, even with the latest update of OLM doesn't work. I have never had success using the *.olm files. I've restored dozens of windows machines successfully using pst's.

I'd like to backup OLM using the *.olm protocol. remove the existing installation, shutdown, restart, reinstall clean and restore using the *.olm protocol. If I knew the olm would work I'd try that but I have no faith in the *.olm system working. It hasn't worked yet. It's not robust or reliable in my opinion.

Can anyone help me? I believe I've tried everything. I hope that I've missed something. I'd love to be proven wrong on my conclusions regarding the *.olm restore. I'd love for a database rebuild to actually do something productive.

I would greatly appreciate any assistance which will help me to resolve this issue.

Thanks, Sam

I am not receiving many emails for the last week or so.  I get a few per day (under 10) but I used to get 30-40.  And I have a friend who helps by letting me know that she gets messages saying that her messages to me are bouncing back. I have business emails that I'm expecting but I'm not getting them.

I have emptied my deleted messages many times.  I have cleaned out all my folders of saved emails.  Then today I just set up a new rule for archived messaged (archive anything older than 180 days).

I did fix my iCloud account so that it wasn't red anymore when I checked on it.  It's now showing green in the list of accounts.  My default account is my usual other account.

What do I do?

When I installed the latest (March 16 2016) update for Office 2011, it caused my Outlook program to hang nearly every time I try to do anything.  I get the spinning wheel for a minute or two constantly--it is unusable.  I could move to Outlook 2016 but hate the interface--font is too small to see.  Is there a way to uninstall the update (I was happy with it before) or fix this problem directly?

When an incoming email contains a virus, Avira quarantines it. Outlook does not know this is happening, so it ends up with a database that points to a missing file.

Outlook won't let me view or send emails until I rebuild the database, which takes forever.

I have a workaround: tell Avira to restore the virus email, and then Outlook is happy again. Knowing the identity of the bad email, I can delete it from Outlook. I just have to be careful not to open it, even in the preview pane.

But this is an annoying process, especially when it happens several times a day as it did last week for several days.

Is there any way to tell Outlook to ignore a missing file and just trash the pointer to it?

Office identities folder is 50 GB. Most of this is Message Attachments folder. How can I make this smaller?

I hope someone can help me.    I switched over to a MAC 6 months ago and bought outlook for it.  I have a cox email address and outlook wont save my password.   I get an error message somedays every 5 minutes and some days only a few times a day.  The error message from Cox my internet provider is...

"The server for account "cox" returned the error "Connection idle for too long".   Would you like to reenter your password.

I reenter my password but get this message over and over.  I created a gmail address and dont have this problem with that acct on outlook.   I have tons of clients using my cox email so I dont want to give up that email address.  Any help would be appreciated as Cox tells me it outlooks problem, outlook tells me its cox's problem and Apple says its outlooks problem.

I am trying to retrieve a deleted email from Time Machine as it has been too long for me to retrieve it from my current deleted folder.  However, when I go into Time Machine, my outlook database is not in my identity folder.  Any date I go back to does not have my database folder.  Does anyone know why it does not back-up that file?
