I just installed Outlook 2011 on my Mac and imported all my emails etc. from Entourage 2008 Web Services Edition. Mail from my POP accounts does not appear in my In box, and no new POP mails are being received. How can I get my POP mail account to work?

I am using the Mac of a former employee.

When I send Outlook invites, the owner of the company receives an invite from me showing the former employee as required.

Please help.

I have had a most frustrating time as described below. I have not received an answer to that email.

Today I restored a Time Machine backup but Outlook could not restore the database. Error [-17997} I have lost my contacts and the folders containing saved messages.

Case SRX1338186935ID

Hello Joey

The original case number for this was SRX1338174538ID

I am very angry and I can scarcely describe how utterly upset I am with the disaster caused by my seeking help from Microsoft.
The original problem was Office:Mac 2011 Outlook failing to open. A solution that was offered and accepted was to delete and reinstall Outlook and at when this was suggested I sought and obtained assurance that I would not lose my contacts and the folders of saved emails. I even phoned Microsoft a second time and was assured by someone else that I would not lose these things. I was specifically told that removing and reinstalling the software would not affect the saved information. I followed exactly the instructions that were emailed to me and was devastated to find these important things missing. When I contacted Microsoft again I was told that I would need to pay for the support hours spent or upgrade to Office 365 and pay an annual fee. I chose the latter.
Despite the many hours I have now spent on this I am still without the lost information. I’m sure you will be able to learn what steps were taken by refering to the case notes, but it includes finding 8.6GB on files and approximately 1,500 email which were “synced” but which apparently could not be found or reinstated in Outlook.
I felt many frustrations with the phone service during the whole episode, but this culminated this evening when your representative asked me to hold the line and shortly after the call was cut off.
I was assured that the important information would not be lost and I have now spent many hours in futile attempts to restore it. I have an external hard drive with regular backups, so I presume the lost 30-odd folders, the many emails within them and my contact list can be found and reinstated. Outlook is virtually useless to me without them and the money I spent will have been utterly wasted.
I desperately need this problem solved.
Please reply by email advising what action you will be taking to solve this enormously frustrating problem.

Office Outlook 2011 v. 14.5.6 with ios 10.11.4

Outlook Search function for e-mail and contacts stop working properly after updating IOS

I have office:mac 2011 installed on my computer but when I call up outlook, it asks for my my product key but after I enter it, it says that it is in error.  I am copying it directly from the code included with my program but it will not let me send mail out on outlook.  Any suggestions?
I recently purchased and installed Office for Mac.  All parts are activated and appear to function correctly except for Outlook.  When I start Outlook it asks me for the Product Key.  When I enter the key that came with the package I get a message that the key is invalid.  why would that be?

Just moved from windows Outlook and finding my way around but the biggest bug bear is that I have to view a day, a week, a month. In windows I can highlight a range and it will show that range on the large calendar. It annoys me that 3/4 of your view can be days that have passed, I'm only interested in what"s coming!

Thanks

I have this morning lost all sight of and access to a folder and its subfolders in Outlook for Mac 2011 v14.6.3 and OSX 10.11.4. I've had no problems up until today.

The files are still being received on my Macbook - the alert comes up on screen and the .olk files still show and can be read from within Finder with the path username/documents/microsoft user data/Office 2011 identities/ Main Identity / Data Records / Messages.

The host server is still acting normally, and files are being received on my iPhone and iPad as usual.

So the problem appears to be in restoring visibility of the folder within Outlook, at least to my limited view. I've checked View / Navigation Pane but that's working normally for all other files; I've searched trash and deleted items folders; and I'm stuck.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Shoot.  I'm still seeing the original poster's issue with Outlook 2011, version 14.6.1.  I'm running OS X 10.11.4.  Anyone else still have this issue?

Original poster's post:

-------------------

Don't know if anyone finds this an issue but I rely on search in emails a lot. So now with either the yosemite change or the latest update to outlook, when performing a search, rather than showing the latest results on top and keeping the focus there while other results pile up underneath, it still shows the latest on top but forces the cursor/view down to the results that are displaying below.  So you can't just open the recent ones and ignore the rest, you have to wait until it loads everything.

This is pretty time consuming to wait for all these results to display and then have to scroll up to the latest at the top again.

Anyone have a workaround / solution to this?

thanks

In Outlook 2011 for Mac when I view the IMAP folders...

the list does not contain all of the IMAP folders that are on the server. We have a server folder

called Spam and another called spam but when I look in Outlook, I only see the Spam

folder and all of the actual spam mail goes into the spam one.. if that makes sense.

Need to know how to be able to see the spam folder (lower case) ...

thanks for any help.
