When I process emails in Outlook on my (new) MacBook Pro, a spinning color wheel appears and the program does not respond for a minute. This started immediately after I upgraded to Mountain Lion OS X. I have re-installed Mountain Lion (Apple support's recommendation) to be sure I got a clean install.

I get the spinning color wheel with Outlook on my iMac running OS X v 10.9.5.

The Outbox and Draft Files are empty.

I cannot find the solution.

Advice?

With some recent update to Mac Office Outlook (can't recall exactly when - 2-3 months ago? Maybe related to Yosemite?) I find that when I do a search in Mac Office Outlook, the app always navigates to the BOTTOM of the search results, i.e. the oldest result.  If there are a lot of results , this is really annoying since more often than not it is the most RECENT result that I am interested in.  Are others seeing this?  Any idea how to defeat this? Spelunking around  the app hasn't revealed any way to affect this behaviour.

I am using Outlook 14.4.8 on Yosemite

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)

Had to patch the mail server for Beast & Poodle recently - once doing so found ALL MS Mac e-mail clients stopped working.  Through some testing found the culprit was TLS 1.0.  If it is on Entourage 2008/Outlook 2011/Outlook 15 work great.  Once I turn off TLS 1.0, all clients stop working.  Tried getting an answer from MS support if there is any plan to patch at least 2011 & 15 for something better than TLS 1.0, they couldn't answer and directed me here.

So - anyone have any word on patches for Outlook 2011/15?  I'll move my Entourage users to Outlook 2011 if I know there is a fix coming shortly.  If not I guess it is Apple Mail time!

Thanks.

When I highlight text in Outlook (version 14.4.8), depress the right mouse button, and select "Search with Google", the search is conducted with Safari. My default browser is Firefox (latest update). I am running Mac OS 10.10.2 and I know how to use "System Preferences" to set the default browser. I have verified that Safari is not the default browser in Safari's "Preferences". What must I do to get Outlook to use my default browser? BTW, Outlook does open imbedded links in Firefox. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello All ~

I have an iMac running OS X, version 10.9.5 with Office for Mac 2011, version 14.4.8.

Recently, I can not open Word or Excel files that come as email attachments.  I get the following error message:

Oddly, when I forward the email to my Macbook Pro running OS X Yosemite, version 10.10.2, I do not have an issue at all.

I've seen some forum posts on this ~ but nothing with a concrete solution.

Anny suggestions, help, instructions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance

Hello,

I have rebuild my entourage identity in entourage 2008. Now I have installed outlook 2011. When try to import latest "main identity" outlook doesn't import anything.

I am unable to import emails from entourage 2008 to outlook 2011. My database file size is 22 GB. Please help to resolve this issue. These emails are very important and we want to continue this in outlook 2011.

Thanks & Regards

Vishal

I've discovered a bug in Outlook 2011 V14.4.8. With "Conversation view", the time stamp is not always interpreted correctly and messages may not sort correctly. I have confirmed this against Date Received view in the same app and compared to Conversation view in OWA. I've posted an example at http://i61.tinypic.com/11m9mro.png

Is anyone else seeing this? I can't find a way to report this to MS for review so resorting to this non-MS forum. For whatever it's worth, I'm running OSX 10.10.2 with all current patches and Office is currently patched to the latest available versions. I'm connecting to Microsoft-hosted Office 365 using the Outlook default connection info. Thanks.

On Friday the 27th of February, my Outlook 2011 for Mac would crash opening opening.  I have had this occur in the past when the Mail in the Outlook folders grows too large (in my case 24 GB).  When trying to rebuild the Identity and Folders from Main Identity on the Time Machine, only 9 GB was saved in the Main Identity.  The folders containing the emails were saved in a file called Last Identity backed up which was also on the Time Machine which was 24 GB.  Trying to rebuild the identity from the Last Identity folder failed, regardless of how far back in time I went (I went as far back as a file from December 2014 when the Main Identity was 8 GB and the Last Identity was 23 GB).  The Microsoft help desk was phenomenal going through multiple identity creations and rebuilds, only to have the 9 GB Main Identity rebuild, but not the Last Identity.  When trying to rebuild this, Outlook reverted to Main Identity so I am unable to rebuild my folders.

Does this sound familiar and has anyone found a way to rebuild an Outlook file that is so large (2 years worth of emails)?

I need to transfer my email data to another computer (MAC).

When i try t export, it just freezes at about 20 %.

Is there another way I can extract that data file?

with a PC, I can simply copy the data file, but with a Mac I am not sure if that is an option.

Please advise!!!

Hi,

I was invited to post my question here from Technet Community Support. So here is the post I published there:
