Used to log into my live.com email once a day and after I checked "keep me logged in"....it would pop open each time I clicked on the desktop icon.

Now it forces me to log in each and every time I go to check my mail.

Why does it now ignore my wishes to STAY LOGGED IN until I log off???

You do not have the proper choices for me to pick below, so I picked the best one I could...sorry!

Thanks for your help!

I have a couple email accounts and had no trouble signing into either until two days ago. It sends me this message when I try to sign into the one account. My other account works fine yet.

"This account can't be used to access Outlook.com

You're currently signed in with an Office 365 email account, which can't be used with Outlook.com. Please click here to sign out of your Office 365 account, then use another Microsoft account to sign in to Outlook.com (for example, your hotmail.com, live.com, or msn.com account)."

Can anybody help me out?

Thanks, Rachel
At first i tried finding the answer between the many post that have yet been made concerning the exact same problem i'm struggling with right now.

After reading numerous posts user's made explaining they had accidentally closed their account by pressing the button "Close this account" and reading the replies made by moderators, which mainly state they must have been inactive for a longer period of time and that they'll need the account that has been affected to be able to provide the correct procedure, i'm starting to wonder if this problem is solvable in any way.

Without the intention to insult I'm wondering why on earth you'd need the specific account to provide the correct procedure.

The issue is fairly simple and i doubt if you actually have to look up the account.
The account was closed by a mistake from the user's side, he accidentally closed the account without being aware of the consequences or they changed their mind after doing so.
This was done by an option Microsoft provides, the "Close this account" button.

If there even is a way to solve this and thus reactivate your account, i assume this procedure would be the exact same for everyone with this problem, agreed?

I think i can speak for everyone on here if i kindly ask you to provide us with a way to simply reactivate the account we so foolishly closed down.

If you'd still like to check my account, i'll be waiting for the pm.

I'll obviously be online while waiting for it, no need to notify me. I've pretty much read all of the posts concerning this issue.

Thanks in advance,
Rick.
I have a HTC One X with Opera Browser and I signed to Outlook. after a while I change in my mobile to the pc view, now I want to go back to mobile view but I don't know how.

My father's Window's Live Mail account wasn't receiving emails for a few days which is very unusual as he uses it for both personal and business, so he asked me to send him a test email which I did - but it wasn't received. I said that I’ll come and have a look at it, but I live pretty far away so only got to it today. I fixed the problem and now it's receiving emails from today but not anything from the last week including my test email.

I contacted the Live Help section for advice and the person said that anything that was sent and not received can’t be received now unless the sender resends them again.

I think this is crazy and totally unacceptable, he could be after missing out on important emails and we have no way of knowing unless we ring and email everyone one of his contacts asking them to resend anything from the last 7 days.

Has anyone else had this problem??

Since yesterday I have not been able to sync any new email. This is happening in the Mail app on my Windows 8 PC, Windows RT device, and Windows Phone.

I am able to successfully send email from all of those devices, but no new mail syncs. I am able to view all of the new email in Outlook.com. There is no error and on the Windows Phone the inbox claims "up to date." I have changed nothing on any of those devices. New calendar appointments however do sync instantaneously across all of the devices.

Here is what I have tried:

  1. Manually syncing on all of the devices.
  2. On my Windows Phone removing the email sync and adding it back. It took a long time to re-download all of my mail for each of the folders, but no new mail since yesterday morning.
  3. Sent test messages from each of those devices. I can see the new email in my inbox on Outlook.com but they do not show up anywhere else.
  4. Moved a few of the newer emails from the inbox to another folder via Outlook.com, but those messages in that folder still don't sync with any of the devices.

Again, I have changed nothing on all three of those devices or with my Outlook.com account.

Thanks for your assistance.
