I'm trying to accept the new Terms Of Use for Xbox Live, but I need my Parents email to verify. The problem is that my parents have forgotten their Microsoft Email since they verified my Xbox Live Account. I would like to know how I can recover my parents email.
I use Windows 8.0 and Office 365, but do not use SkyDrive Pro, as it would not access the additional 20G of storage I purchased for Skydrive. I sync my data using skydrive and a third party product, SkyShellEx, which allowed me to keep my files in a structure I had organized/created. It allowed me to store the files on separate hard drive and continuously sync the files to Skydrive for access from my various devices and other computers.
Recently, I installed windows 8.1. in the process, it "created" multiple copies of my files that had been sync'ed using SkyShellEx. There were multiple types of files involved, .html, .pdf, .doc, .wpd, .jpg, .xls, to name but a few of the different types. For example, if I had a file named "filename," which was stored on my hard-drive, it would create a file named "filename," which was an "online" accessible file only, and then create a new file, "filename-machinename" which was available offline, and randomly, it would also create a file "filename-machinename-machinename," which would be offline accessible, but would render "filename-machinename" as online available only. Both or all three files were sync'ed to my hard drive and the Skydrive, however, although the files "appear to have the same sixe/file length, they do not take up significantly more space on my harddive, but they have overfilled my skydrive and cannot be synced to the skydrive without more space. All files could be opened using the web apps on the skydrive, but if I edited a document, it could not be saved because of lack of space. When I attempt to open the original "filename" (or "filename-machinename" if "filename-machinename-machinename" exists) on my desktop from the hard drive, I get an error message and the file will not open
Yesterday, I attempted to resolve the problem by deleting the "offline" only files, and copying the remaining "filename-machinename" or "filename-machinename-machinename" files, whichever was offline accessible and contained the data, to a new duplicate folder structure on a separate hard-drive, without the properties, and then renaming back to the original "filename." I then created a new folder and subfolder with different names in the Skydrive folder in Explorer on my desktop, and pasted the duplicate folder in the new skydrive sub-folder as a sub-subfolder. I tried this first with one folder, and it appeared to work, and the new folder appeared in the online Skydrive. I did have to delete some older folders, which I was already planning to delete to make space on Skydrive. I then followed the same procedure with three other folders/directories and files. The folders showed the sync icon on them as they uploaded to the skydrive, and no error messages.
Today, when I went to check confirm the files, they were gone. In the Skydrive folder on explorer, all subfolders under the new folder I created have disappeared. Clicking on the Skydrive icon on the metro start screen, I also get no subfolders. If I go online from the desktop (IE 11.0) and go to my skydrive, the first sub-folder is present, but the first three sub-sub-folders are gone, and only the fourth remains, I have not been able to determine how complete it is yet. I have back-up files for most of the lost data, but have been unable yet to confirm how complete they are. For the first sub-subfolder I put in the Skydrive folder, I copied it and retained a copy on the separate hard-drive; for the second through fourth, however, I cut and pasted, and did not retain a copy of the new sub-subfolders on the separate hard drive
I have other folders on my Skydrive, which are not sync'ed. Those files were unaffected, and not duplicated as above. The overall directory structure in Skydrive remains the same. the files appear in the Skydrive folder in Explorer, in the App folder, and in the online folder.
I have uninstalled the SkyShellEx program, and was attempting to recreate all of the sync'ed files in new folders that had not been created at he time that SkyShellEx was uninstalled.
It is mssion-critical to me to have access to all of these files across my various devices, and to know that they will all be sync'ed and reflecting the same data. THAT IS NOT HAPPENING, and in addition the product has become unstable and unreliable. How can I add new files to Skydrive if I never know if they will be accessible across all devices, or even there at all the next time I look??
