Every time I try to sign in to my hotmail account I get this: It looks like someone else might be using your account To help you—and only you—get back into *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, we need to verify that it's yours. I try to answer the questions but I don't seem to remember enough to get it back please help, I just want to use my xbox live!

Where have my inbox messages gone – only seeing a few days worth

Over the last couple of days I've noticed that my inbox has disappeared.  Where have all of my messages gone?  Why am I only seeing a few days worth.  A chat rep suggested that I do delete recovery, but this only recovered deleted messages.

When I delete a message from my email, it is physically expunged from Microsoft servers? Is it retained on disk for some period of time afterwards? Is metadata about my emails archived for a period of time after messages are deleted? Does Microsoft perform regular backups of users emails? For how long are those backups retained, and what is the policy on aging them out?


Live.com email stopped syncing in Win 8 and Phone

I've been syncing my live.com email with Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 for a year, and a few days ago it stopped working on both at the same time.  My live.com account is now on outlook.com, but it has been since outlook.com was released.

On the phone, it keeps prompting me for my password even though I entered it correctly.  I can't remove the account since it is the Microsoft Account used by the phone.  I can't get into the settings either.  It just asks for my password over and over.

On Windows, it will sync some mail and then give an error.  I tried disabling Email and re-enabling, but no luck so far.

Any ideas?

I can no longer get live.com email on my iphone

Yesterday my phone stopped getting emails from my two live.com accounts.  I spoke with verizon who guided me through deleting the accounts and adding them back.  

When i add them as hotmail accounts nothing happens.  No emails at all.  When I add them as pop accounts they can receive emials but no calendar.  What should I do?

I've tried to re-set my password by sending a re-set notice to another account, outlook say's it has been sent but the inbox is empty, in the past few day's i've had to re-set my password about 10 times because it always says password invalid on sign in, please help

I've been struggling with the same issue.

1. I couldn't care less about forwarding (that's just crappy).

2. Why is it not possible to connect the two accounts? I just want to send and receive Outlook.com emails in another Outlook.com account? Is that too much to ask?

3. If the above are a no-go, then how can I make an Outlook.com email address to be an alias for another Outlook.com email address? Is that possible?

I tried to change the handle for one, then try to create an alias in the second but that did not work (said the handle was already taken).

Any suggestions?
