Hi, I have an old messenger account I would like to use again. I had to recover it as I hadn't logged into it from this computer before and now it wants me to merge it into a skype account. Is there any way to verify that my contacts are still there before
I go head and merge it?
Hi I have recently been unable to access my skype account and trying to get support from the official skype website is just impossible. I have tried using the password reset token and I keep getting the same reply that states that my password/username
is not recognised. This is the second time that this has happened in recent months, on the first occasion I became so frustrated with trying to get help via skype that I gave up and created a new account.
I would like to know if it is possible for your skype account to be hacked and if so what can we do to prevent that from happening? (I know that I am entering the correct username and password).
I would also like to know if there is anyway of retrieving my old accounts? The official help for skype website is permenantly down (oops looks like our site is currently having probs etc) and has been like that for months.
I have phoned the microsoft helpline who were less than helpful so anyone that can give me advice I would be very grateful,

Back in 2012, I had deleted my email address (hotmail) but after some time I had accessed that email address to change profile details, password
and delete unwanted emails.
BUT
I forgot to permanently delete that account again.
I believe it has been a year since I last logged in... I cannot remember anything of that account since I changed the information to things I normally wouldn't have.
but for some reason the account is still active. I had previously created a post on Microsoft answers but I did not get any helpful feedback.
How can it be active if I never signed in again? Or can it be labelled active if I continuously attempt to login?
The email account I wanted deleted is "Removed for security purposes".
There is a lot of things on that account that like important school documentation.
It worries me because I fear someone has hacked it and gained control over it which is why its active.
I can say for certain that I had not successfully logged into that account for the 270 day period.
I really want this email address deleted please. I will provide details to the microsoft help agent.
Please help me.

Not being a clever clogs at all - but it's all worked perfectly well for me. I keep reading threads from frustrated conversations and I'm reminded of my attempts to get Windows 3.11 running over a network, about 15 years ago - no threads then, really no
internet at all worth mentioning. Honestly I can say that the upgrade from Win 8 to 8.1 was simply the press of a Microsoft site button asking me to upgrade and then a 35 minute wait, hey-presto! I'm not actually sure how many of the complaining people really
know how to do a complete re-installation from low-level reformat i.e. rebuilding your machine from scratch. I haven't had to do it since Windows NT, back in the late 90s, obviously not on this machine. Microsoft have never made a 'perfect' operating system,
in fact they've made some real dog's arsehole OSs. I'm trying to recall DOS 4.0 with LIM (?) extenders to make 640K look like 1024K i.e. 1MB of total memory - and that was only 20 years ago, I've got children 20 years old than that. Then every **** on the
planet wanted to hang on their silly device driver, their obscure cheapo monitor and bit of **** over an operating system running a 16-bit architecture. SO, get a life all you moaners. You could of course buy an Apple machine where they charge for everything
- and then charge you some more. On the other hand you could learn how to 'start from scratch', re-install your system OS and learn that it does work - if only you hadn't filled your computer with so much rubbish. I mostly use a DELL with 16GB and 2TB storage

Since I update Windows to 8.1 I can not use anymore skype. It is showing me drive e can not be open I have to put in a cd? No way to change the drive e to the drive (I) where are all my skype files. Can somebody please help me?
