Refreshing my computer and things from my previous Windows 10 did not transfer over. One is icons on my menu and my favorites never came. How do I get them?

My Windows 10 is refreshed, but my icons on my desktop are not the same and my favorites are not there. How do I make this happen?  I'm all by myself, 76 yrs old.  Office Max professional helped me get started in the refreshing process, but did not know maybe the questions I was going to be asked.  I just didn't react like I was suppose to make things happen, I'm sure.  Can anyone help me. I don't know how to get back into this sight.  Perhaps its wrong to put my email on here, but giving it a chance anyway. pplrgl at America on line.

What happened to all my browsing history

Yesterday I tried to retrive some info that should have been in my history.

There was nothig there !!

Today is the same thing.

Did I miss a notice or something about this ?

The screen has a black background which make selections and operations uneasy; the selection for enlarging subjects on the screen is not working. No sound when using the internet; and I have problems using Microsoft Publisher: A title at the top still reads, "...trial" when I have already paid for the purchasing of Windows 10.
