So i installed skype and windows live and then 3 days later my messenger contacts have completely disappeared, but they still remain in Hotmail. and people.live.com and i just want to know how to get them back..

Will Remote Assistance still be possible in some way when Messenger is not supported? I can't find that it is possible in Skype, for instance...
I am trying to set up a new laptop with Windows 7 Pro OS, and have Windows Live Essential Messenger. I also have older laptop with Widnwos Xp and Messenger. I live on a small Hebridean island, and my IT advisor lives on another similar island soem distance away, up to now for many years he has been able to help me using RA via Messenger.

just received message telling me to update to skype, saying messenger will not be available anymore, is that true or scam

After linking messenger with skype and combining my two skype account. All my contacts did not move to skype but they arer all still on people live. I have tried signing in and out, and following all your suggestions and they still wont all load only a very frew shows on skype. How do I get back all my contacts?
