Every time I start up the computer apps for Messenger and Skype appear in the taskbar.  I quit the programs to close them but they re-open when I next start the computer.  How can I remove them from the start up menu?
Clicking that link takes me to a page that says the option is no longer available.

Just like with the switch over to Skype, you aren't taking into account peoples' want to stay with MSN Messenger and Hotmail. Folks should be able to choose whether or not they want to upgrade. Some of us don't like the changes. Stylistically, Outlook is garrish at best, and Skype is NOT optimized for the sort of things MSN Messenger users like to do. There are so many dropped messages that happen with Skype. It's not ready to replace MSN Messenger, and quite frankly, it shouldn't have to!

Please provide us with a way to not have to switch over to Skype and give us back our Hotmail!

..."We Can't sign you into to Windows Live Messenger * Your contact list is unavailable right now, please try again later" 24 hrs later, I still get this ERROR message after I have already tried the repair advice from the Community thread: Go to Control Panel > Add Remove Programs > Repair; I shut it down & Restarted but Live Messenger sign-in is STILL a No-Go! Why can't MS PLEASE fix this? I even got another error message after the 'repair' in attempting to sign-in again, stating that my IP address 'appears to be invalid' - huh? I clicked the option to 'Repair', which eliminated this error and tried signing in again-- but it only reverted back to the 1st Error Message :( "Your Contact list is unavailable right now...etc., etc!" --Very frustrating-- MicroSoft: PLEASE Remedy This Issue(s) ~ Thank You!!

I cannot sign into Messenger and get the folowing error message: 80072f0d.  I've tried upgrading to Skype but it hasn't imported any contacts and also I cannot update Adobe Flash which is needed for Skype.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Tina

I can't acces to windows live messenger I recive error code 80072fod
I merged with Skype not realizing that that Windows Live Messenger would no longer function. My contacts can't see me and I can't see them. The typeface on Skype is miniscule but that is a side issue - the inablility to communicate with my contacts is a MAJOR ISSUE. I want Windows Live Messenger back!!!! Do I have to switch over to Apple/Mac?
