I am another Comcast customer and started having a problem some time during the day yesterday. In the morning everything worked. Now I have all my mail downloaded but there is NO message list or preview pane in either of two accounts.  I can see the most recent on screen as if opened, but cannot access anything prior to its arrival - unless I delete it!  I have unanswered mail that I cannot answer.  Someone suggested a system restore but I will lose all the mail downloaded in that time and it no longer exists on the Comcast server.  I use Norton security suite supplied by Comcast but that does not appear to be an issue - but Comcast is - they will not handle it unless I sign up for their paid "signature" support -  if they even know how!

PS - you cannot notify me at my Comcast address for obvious reasons!!!!!

the .png logo is not showing up on my signature in the email. It is showing on the html file. I get file not found. Is there a directory I have to place the file in?  I tried making a new one and incerting the logo, it places shaded areas around the logo no matter what I do
How do I get Windows Live Mail to open with the Inbox every time?

Original title: our e-mails do not open when clicked on from our in-box. Also, we cannot pull up any other files, [ junk, drafts, sent, etc. ]

Our emails do not open when clicked on from our in-box.  We cannot pull up any of our files, (junk, reply, send, etc.

Whenever I try to email photos directly from the "email" function of Windows Photo Gallery I get this error message and nothing happens.  The full error message is:

Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail (ttglarm) account.

Subject 'cc'

Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE20007

I tried to follow the instructions to "add an account to Windows Live Mail, to just re-add this account, but the instructions didn't work.  When I click the Start button and search for "Mail" it just brings up a list of old email messages sent via Windows Live Mail.  I didn't see any listing for "Windows Live Mail".

Help!

My live mail has been working fine until a 4-5 days ago when the following two problems started
1.  It says working offline.  When I click the online button it says working online, but reverts to offline when I try to send a message or get new messages.  I can send and receive by clicking the send/receive button, but must repeatedly answer to "You are working offline do you want to go online.  after several times answering this and again clicking the send/receive it usually will get and or send messages.
2.  a couple days later, it stopped displaying message content.  The message pane is blank, and if I double click on the message in the list it replies that a problem has ocured, try again.  In the view group, I tried clicking various options in the reading pane, and sometimes have luck getting a message displayed, but it then reverts back to the above when I try to look at another message.

Please take a look at the comments on this site:

This has been a VERY common problem with Windows Live Mail since at least Feb 2011. For me it could have been disastrous if I had not found the above site and managed to retrieve 98% of the deleted emails.

Please include a fix in the next Windows update, at the very least a serious double warning, like "All Files will be deleted" and then "Are you sure you want to delete all files in this account?"

Regards,

William
