problems importing messages from outlook express to windows live mail

I have read and, I think, followed the instructions on how to export messages from OE and import them to WLmail. I do not get any error messages during the import and WLMail says that the import was successful. After I complete the installation, I can see a new folder (Imported Folder) under under Storage Files but when I click on it, it says there are no items in this view. Properties shows 0 messsages.  

 

Any suggestions as to what's gone wrong would be appreciated.  I'm switching computers from one with XP to one with Vista.  I didn't have any problem importing my contacts.

Live Mail – Need Help

I'm using Live Mail with Windows 7.  When sending email I normally use the Bcc feature to keep email addresses secure.  However, when put the email addresses in the Bcc area a box appears that says some email addresses are not valid.  I have verified all the addresses I use and they are all valid.  Any suggestions?

Windows live email works for sbcglobal accounts but not Outlook…

My email had been all working fine in Outlook with no problems. Then one day it just stopped bringing email in. Now this is is only my sbcglobal.net accounts. All the others work fine with no problem. First it said I can send email but the user or password is wrong.  I checked those settings and they are right according to  my file and my other accounts. Next I tried again this am and it says it cannot connect to my pop 3 settings.

However I followed the instructions in one of the posts about setting up the Windows Live Email I get it fine there I just have to keep adding my user name ( my full user name with the sbcglobal.net) along with the password then the email comes though fine. It seems a lot of us is having this problem since ATT new mail upgrade that takes place now.

I would like to use my outlook I really don't like Windows live email.

Please advise.

Delayed or Failed Delivery from Hotmail accounts.

I am an exchange administrator for a company, and I am looking for a little help on troubleshooting delayed and failed emails from Hotmail or MSN accounts to our company domain. I have no reports of other domains having issues delivering to our domain.

 Here is a little about our setup. We are in a mixed Exchange Environment at this time. I am in the process of migrating from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2010. We use Symantec Messaging Gateway as our edge server.

Here is what I have gathered to this point. About 90% of the emails from MSN or Hotmail are Delayed anywhere from an hour to 24 hours. We do have some that are delivered without being delayed, but seems to be random. I used MXToolbox to analyze the Message Header from an email that was delayed, and I can see that the delay is between our Symantec Gateway and Hotmail's server. I also have looked at the delayed bounce back message and it had an error code of 4.4.7. Which means that it timed out when trying to send to our mail server.

I have opened a case, but I don't seem to be getting anywhere with the tech assigned to my case. I am a little frustrated that I can't get him to escalate my issue, and get someone in the same time zone to speak with. I am tired of the one message a day because of the time difference. Any Help would be greatly appreciated.


doc file incorrectly decoded as adobe (but not pdf)

Emails with "doc" attachments often have Adobe symbol. When I click "open", Adobe tries to open but displays error ("email attachment was not correctly decoded") and asks to select a program - which does not work for me. The only solution which I have found is to return to e-mail and click "save all" attachments. I select a folder, save and then click "open with" and then select "Microsoft Office Client Virtualization Handler". I then save file as "docx" for future reference.

How can I avoid this "decoding" problem?

I have also noticed that many existing "doc" files (in folders under My Documents) were corrupted about 1 year ago - with Word symbol being replaced with Adobe symbol but neither Adobe Reader or MS Office (Starter 2010) can open them. Is there an Up-Date for Starter 2010 or Live Mail which would avoid this problem?

Redundant hotmail email account given to someone else of same name

My old email which I have no access to due to inactivity was closed several years ago.  However it now appears that someone else of the same name has been given this address.  As most websites use email addresses to login and send password resets to the email address then they now have access to some old accounts with data I do not want anyone else to have.

I am requesting that the account be closed permanently.  I will provide the account details by private message. 


Bizarre situation with my Hotmail aka Outlook account. I am the only person with access and Hotmail is sending another person MY mail.

Our Email Address is ***.  We have had it for many years.  We use it as a business list for The Recovery Group.  (www.therecoverygroup.org).   Something bizarre is happening that has never happened before.  As TRGAdm, I am the only person who has access to this mailbox.  Yet, each post is sent to a member who has nothing to do with this mailbox.  Not only that, mailboxes receive; they do not send.  So how is she getting copies of the Emails???   I feel terrible that her mailbox is inundated with mail from ***.  I hope you can help because we've been working on this for months.  I was going to copy and paste a dialogue and a sample of one of the posts but there is not enough room in this feedback form to do that.  If you will send me an Email address, I can send you copies of some of the mail.  We would like very much to have a solution to this.  I'm fairly technical and have done everything I know to do.

Help – ‘New Message’ Page Enlarges during Composition

When I'm in the middle of writing an email, the page will intermittently enlarge on it's own (sometimes 
until it's huge) and the 'undo' button doesn't restore it. How can I set it to stay at the original default 
size?

Windows live mail (news mail will not open)

When I am using windows live I am receiving all my emails OK but I cannot open News feed emails being sent to me.

A message tells me a problem has occurred.

 Am I missing a setting or something?
