I am attempting to transition my email, from Insight to TWC but am unable to activate the TWC email account in Live Mail. Whe trying to download the folder I receive the message " IMAP server has issued a unrecognized greeting".
I set up the incoming and outgoing servers and ports according to TWC instructions
Same problem and very irritating! Have tried to follow the screen prompts and still get the same popup asking for the same questions. Have saved a new PW and still nothings works. By X or canceling it will go directly to my emails so why is it there?
Just started happening recently, why?
Frustrating!
Windows 7 using Windows Live Mail 2012 (desktop client).
How do you work the following example without going through SkyDrive?
Example: Right-click on picture file on computer, choose “Send to – Mail recipient,” have Windows Live Mail open with a new message and the file attached.
What happens now is a new message opens and the file is said to be on SkyDrive for others to see when they read get my e-mail. I want it attached directly to the e-mail like it did in my last OS: Windows XP.
The picture file is 305 KB. When I try with a Word file, it works fine. When I try with a PDF file of 2.95 MB, it works fine. So it seems to be only with pictures. I have tried others.
The default e-mail application is Windows Live Mail 2012, and all associations are set for it.
... all appeared to work but the messages are nowhere to be found ...
Are you sure about that? The imported messages may be buried several branches deep in the folder tree. Click on the little triangle to the left of a folder name to expand the tree until there are no more branches to expand:
You can also see all the folders by pressing Ctrl-Y when viewing your message list.
I imported from OE6 on an XP machine (15 or so accounts/.dbx files. They showed fine until I added accounts in livemail, at which point they all disappeared. Tried importing again, and all I get is 'imported folder 1' with no sub-directory/tree below this.
I rely heavily on emails for work, and have put off switching to win7 until now for this very reason. Please don't tell me I need to sell this 1 day old machine, use xp until it dies, and switch to mac (if I'm going to lose all my dbx files anyway, I sure
as **** ain't going through this rigmarole ever again)
Multiple posts tidied up for clarity
Already recreated my 3 email accounts and Windows 7 is a fresh install with all updates. Windows Live Mail is latest version 2012.
Any idea why would that happened.
