PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME. I have not been able to use my windows live mail since I tried to combine it with outlook.com almost 4 months ago. I have not been able to read or send any emails. I get a constant error 80048820. I thought the problem was with my 2 yr old Acer computer so I bought another new HP computer and I still have the same problem. I called my provider and they say it is the settings of the email and I have no clue what that means. Some one offered to help ad asked me to sign in a private message but I don't know how to do that either. PLEASE HELP ME, 90% of my use is sending and reading emails. I am lost like this.
After a new hard drive was installed and windows essentials downloaded, line mail will not open to set up. I tried troubleshooting and ended up with 'windows is incompatible' the download was set to run in XP, I am using windows 7, 64 bit, so I tried changing the set up to windows 7, but the live mail still will not open.
Does anyone have any idea of what to do?
Hi all
I've been a user (and a big fan) of WLM on Windows 7 for a number of years and have had 5 or so email accounts using IMAP working very well between my PC, my iPhone and my iPad. For a long series of reasons involving a transition to an Android phone and the use of a Chromebook while travelling I decided to change my accounts so that they all forwarded automatically to my Gmail account, which I would then use as a master. A few years ago this would have been a joke, but it seems that GMail has come on a long way.
So I can forward my emails with no bother. When they arrive in GMail (online version) I can see which email account they were originally sent to. In fact, it looks just like any other email client. If I press "reply" to an email, then I can even send it back via the SMTP address of the original account it came in on. So it seemed like a perfect solution - and one that works fantastically on my phone and Chromebook and was just as good as WLM.
I've now come back to my main PC running WLM. The only account receiving email now is my GMail account, but I can still see which original account emails were sent to in WLM. So for example if someone sends an email to *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, it's then forwarded automatically by hotmail to *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, and when I look at the email in WLM, it appears like it was sent to *** Email address is removed for privacy ***. (In the "To:" line). In fact, despite having being forwarded to gmail and then pulled in via IMAP to my WLM client it appears exactly the same as if I'd collected it directly from IMAP from the original account.
HOWEVER - here's my problem now: Previous to all this, if I pressed "Reply" to an email, WLM would automatically populate the "From" field with the account name that the original email had been sent to. (So, if someone sent me an email to *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, then if I press "Reply" then my reply leaves via hotmail.com). With my new set up via Gmail forwarding, even though my received mails look like they are coming from hotmail, the "From" field is now always set to "Gmail".
I'd like the "From" field to always be the same as the account that the email was originally sent to. (Note, I've even made sure that GMail is not the default address also). I know I can change this manually for each email, but I'd like it to be automatic, because it might be confusing to some people to suddenly have me change email addresses mid-conversation.
Any ideas anybody?

I am attempting to transfer Windows Live Mail from my current system to a new PC. The old PC has Live Mail 2011, the new one has Live Mail 2012. I have many storage folders with several hundred messages in each. This is in addition to the sent mail folder, which has severl hundred more. I attempted to do a full export from my current system and this resulted in a incomplete export. Folders were missing and not all messages were exported out either.
Does anyone know what could be happening? Does anyone know what the proper procedure is for transfering mail from one computer to another?
Hi there!
I am Talha Idrees. My email ID is *** Email address is removed for privacy ***. For the last too many days, I can't access my email despite logging into the account successfully (from Pakistan) except on 9th March (when it accidentally took me to the inbox) and encounter nothing but Microsoft Account settings. With the help of "Recent Activity" bar, I came to know that it has also been unsuccessfully accessed from Russia, Luithiana and China repeatedly (must be by the hackers, scammers). This, assuming that the "Recent Activity" bar is properly working (which apparently seems to be the case). I have to access my account for very important emails and its really VERY FRUSTRATING not having been able to do that for so long. Since the Outlook and Skype merger, people were expecting it to get more streamlined and user friendly. Unfortunately it turned out to be quite the opposite and complicated for various reasons. Please URGENTLY look into:
1) Why can't I access my inbox?
2) What should I do to get past these complicated settings?
3) What is the QUICKEST way to land into my inbox without making the security settings more complicated?
LOOKING FORWARD FOR THE QUICKEST POSSIBLE REPLY!
Thank you very much!!!

I was reading an email in Windows Live Mail and somehow clicked and dragged and the text changed to a tinier view. Now I cannot figure out how to make the view go back to 100%. When writing my reply, it was also tiny...even though I had selected a 14 pt font size.

For a little over a week now, this is the error code I get when I try to create or reply to an email.
C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local\Temp\WER79F.tmp.WERInternalMetadata.xml
C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local\Temp\WER1D32.tmp.appcompat.txt
C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local\Temp\WER1DFE.tmp.mdmp
Also, when I open my browser I get an error message
"Internet Explorer has stopped working,
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly
Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
I run Windows 7, with Windows live mail, Cox.net is my provider and is a dedicated internet connection.
I keep getting the same response from the same guy ZigZag3143 (MS - MVP) "Type "Wlarp" into search (without the quotes of course) then press enter>repair all WLE programs."
I have done this several times now and am not able to resolve the issue. There is no known new programs on my laptop that may have infected it. Everything was fine when I went to bed and not working when I got up in the morning to check my mail. My laptop is powered off when I'm not using it.
I hope someone can help,
Thanks in advance for not asking me to try Wlarp again =)

Since last week when I login to my Live Email account from work the full user interface does not load. Instead what I get appears to be the text only Light version which never seems to fully load (spinning donut), has slow performance and is difficult to read because there are missing images.
This happens when using BOTH IE 8 and Chrome 8. Note this is a work system I am unable to install different browser versions. Windows 7. Live mail was working fine two weeks ago. I am not aware of any changes to the local system. When I login on my phone or from my home PC it still loads normally.
Any ideas why this stopped working or how to force the normal web app to load?
Thanks,
Derek
